Pilot Hill sounds good. PM me your cell phone so I can call you when we get close, or leave IHOP.
I haven't worked out the contact point yet. IHOP is a lot of back tracking for me. I could meet you at Pilot Hill like last year. I just found out my brothe is going to be working a Travis for two weeks. He is showing up here Saturday night (26th) and Sunday. He is working all day Saturday so I could not talk him into riding along.
There is an alternate route that would allow you to miss El Dorado Hills. Continue SE on 49 from Pilot Hill to the South Fork of the American River at Coloma. Just past the bridge is Lotus Rd. Right on Lotus and follow that south for 14 mi (becomes N. Shingle Rd at Green Valley Rd) to Shingle Springs. Cross over US50, then land immediate left on Mother Lode RD to the El Dorado "Y" (right fork) and follow that into El Dorado. Turn right on CA49 in the center of El Dorado. This takes you through the Consumes River Gorge and into Plymouth. You miss the twists in Salmon Falls Rd but also all of El Dorado Hills and the flat grass land down to Latrobe. The added attraction is the Cosumnes River Gorge and more foothill scenery. The roads are good and relatively fast and have enough curves.
I live not far from the intersection of Lotus Rd and Gold Hill/Luneman Rd.

TrayTod,
Was that you sitting out along Route 49 last year in the red GT, in the direct sun, waiting for an hour or so for us to come by?
Man, you have got to find a shaded spot this year.
Dieter - looking forward to seeing you and your cool GT again. Could have sworn I've seen your BMW 2002 around the Bay Area twice this year. Have you been down here? Or is there another freshly painted tan 2002 running around?
He sold his 2002. He has a shorter commute now(2 miles) and the BMW wasn't taking it well. He plans to put in a bigger motor in the gt and a stick with the proceeds from the BMW. Fair trade don't ya think.![]()

Yep, that was me at the fire Pilot Hill fire Station. I got my tan for the whole summer. Hopefully we will time it better this year. Do we know how many cars are planning to show? Quentin will not be able to make it again this year. He is looking for a good Manta in the Bay area. Does anyone know of one available? His GT needs to come off the road so he can collect some collision insurance.
I saw the orange and black Kadet Rallye both Sunday and this morning. Sunday was on North Shingle Rd and this morning was in Cameron Park. I should have turned around and chased him down but I was late for work.

Hi, Is the Sac to Sonora run still "happening"? (60's talk) It's about time to go for a ride in my gold 69 GT1.1, if I could join, would visit friends in Pine Grove Friday, then meet you a few miles away in Jackson or somewhere else on 49. Sunday I'm going to Half Moon Bay Dream Machines, it's about 70 miles from here. There were 4 (or more?) GT,s at HMB last year. Theres still time to enter show, open to all kinds of machines from bicycles to bombers. Roy
Yes the fun run is still on We are meeting at IHOP on Northgate. Right off 80.

It looks like the route of the fun may change. I am rerouting it to miss Auburn. It should shave an hour off the run. We can leave IHOP and head down Hwy 50 to Latrobe Rd in El Dorado Hills. Then to Sonora. If this a problem contact me.

If I can join part of this run Sat I would meet somewhere along the way near (not really near)Jackson, would need to know HiW, location, appx time you're passing by, not expecting anyone to change any plans for me. I'm trying to fix a stuck horn problem today (dont use it for years, use it and it stays on).
PM me with your cell # and I'll call you.

I need a head count for IHOP so they can set aside an area for us.

Well I took today off so I can clean up the GT. I will be meeting up with the group on Latrobe Road in El Dorado Hills about 1/2 mi south of US50.
Four of us at IHOP, If I don't get stuck with overtime.Get off work at 0630. Dean, the guy who hates big bumpers!
I should be at the I-Hop around 9 a.m. tomorrow.
Gil is coming as well.
Drifting: dorifuto sōkō, a motor sport where the driver intentionally oversteers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels through turns, while preserving vehicle control.
So far from the responses I've gotten on and off thread we should have at least 10 coming to IHOP.
That is wonderful!

Lets see if this new map works. I will be printing off copies too for all. But if you want to get your own, here it is.

The instructions are not quite correct for the El Dorado Hills interchange. Take the first EDH exit, it should say Latrobe Rd South. Stay right off the exit and continue on south on Latrobe Rd. I will be at the intersection of Suncast and Latrobe Rds.
Thanks Chris for organizing this. Had a great time driving through the foothills. In all 9 cars participated in some or all of the run, 1 neat Ascona, 1 Manta and the rest GTs. The event was mared by only one small incident at the very end which I will only tease everyone with. It involved a wheel.
