*Update* Tacoma's Gathering Of OPELS

Our Gathering plans have been made and the Flyers of the Event are ready to be mailed… Do we have your address? If not, PM us at this site.
We have planned a whole weekend of fun, interesting things to do. We will begin our Gathering on Friday the 18th of July at 1:00 with a tour of the "Harold LeMay" car Museum. This is probably the largest private car collection in the World!!!! The Cost will be $10.00 per person. We plan on going to a local restaurant for dinner after the tour. As for the main event Saturday the 19th at 11:00 A.M we are Gathering at "Kelley's Kafe" 16302 Pacific Ave. Spanaway, Wa. At the Gathering, we will have Guest Gil Wesson from OPEL GT SOURCE and several others to offer their knowledge of the Opel. The day's Gathering will end with the presenting of Awards and Door Prizes. WE have planned a great get- together dinner following at 6:00, at "The Ram" restaurant, located on the beautiful Waterfront of Ruston Way. Doesn't this all really sound like fun? WE hope so. If anyone needs help in lodging, we have chosen the Lakewood LaQuinta located just off I-5 (EXIT # 125) on the corner of Bridgeport Way and Pacific Highway. La Quinta Inn & Suites Lakewood - Washington Hotels Those interested, can check for the needed information on his reply in this site. We hope to have a great time this year, so please come and join us for a weekend of Opel friendship and fun. Feel free to e-mail for more information. Hope to see you with or without your Opel.

One of the things I would like to see more of is Opel photos with beautiful backdrop or famous places in the background. How about a group shot in front of Mt Rainier during this year's gathering? Or, Pike's Market at dawn, or whatever; somewhere distinctively Tacoma/Seattle.

Perhaps someday someone will produce our Opel Calendar from such photos.

Tacoma and Opels

Hey, now that is a great idea!!!! We will have the chance for photo's
on the sound at Ruston Way. That would be nice with the GIG HARBOUR BRIDGE and PUGET SOUND, or how about the quaint town of STEILACOOM with the Ferry Docks and old homes........Hm!!!!! I will see what I can come up with. CRUZ ARE YOU LISTENING????? Greaat idea. THANKS.

Carpool to Tacoma?

Is anyone from (SF) bay area or anywhere interested in carpooling to Tacoma in my Buick or your Opel/other & share driving & fuel cost? My lady can't/won't go and I'm not willing to drive my 1.1 GT that distance. Will camp/tent or share room but not bed. Don't smoke but do enjoy a well made beer. Would like to have time for local sights & all Opel activites. I have driven to Vancouver BC four times in past & drove 9,200 miles to east coast VT-SC, & return, Sept -Dec '07. I'm retired so timing not critical, dont have to be back at work Mon am!

GTRoy,
Glad to hear you're going.

My wife will not be on this trip. And my big brother, who rode with me to the Opel National last year, has declined my kind & generous offer to ride to Tacoma. I guess I'm saying there's an empty seat in the GT, providing, of course, you're not a mass murderer.

Reminds me: did you hear about the cannibals eating a clown? One says to the other, "Does that taste funny to you?"

I'm planning on taking vacation time so I won't be rushed to get up there, or back. Give it some thought.

When's the Port Costa show? I can't find anything on it.

Tacoma run

Hi, I googled "Port Costa" & found review of July 15 '07 car show(refered to as 3rd annual) also July '05 & July '03 shows, with some photos so looks like it's been every other year. ph# for P.C. information 510-787-2254. Downtown Martinez has weekly summer fri nite car show on Main St starting this week, I think its just show up & park, and a bigger more organized show in Sept. Would be nice to show up then with lots O'Blitzs. Have not taken GT downtown yet but will try to next fri, and in Sept if not off on some other adventure. OK BBQ place in Martinez but closest brewpub is in Concord.
3 wwII bombers and 1 P-51 at Concord airport this weekend/fly in P-51 1/2 hr $2200, 1 hr $3200, not Opel related, sorry. will pm my ph # to discus Tacoma run. Roy
