Kick a little asphalt
|
Sorry for the absence for the past week, but I think we need to start finalizing things for the meet as it's only two weeks away. The current list of attendees looks like this:
Rick Jim Todd Dave Ron Dennis Tom Kevin Bob Gregg? Jordan & Lottie? Mitch? Main dish will be the hot roast beef sandwiches again since I didn't hear any objections. Dave will be bringing some deserts, Rick usually brings pasta salad and hoagies, Todd offered to bring some beverages. Let me know if I missed anything. Any additional input is certainly welcome as we near the date. Duane |

Octopel Fest
Hey: I think I read my name a couple of times in this thread, but didn't really get a formal invitation! Anyway, I do have my kids that weekend, and would like to know the schedule of activities, and whether other 12 and 14 year old boys might be around. (Private message to Jim: How far is it from Rockville, Maryland to Duane's house?) Are out of towners staying in a hotel? Thanks for the update.

from: pipersville, pa to: rockville, md - Google Maps I stayed in the Courthouse Motor Inn in Doylestown last year, it had the best rates around. Nothing fancy, just a bed to sleep in. Bob |

Mitch,
There's no such thing as a "formal" invitation to this event, all are welcome. Children and adults of all ages are welcome to come and enjoy a weekend of food, fun and friendship. My daughters will be here (ages 16 & 13) and Dave may bring his son along. I wouldn't really say there is a schedule of events as we're all a pretty laid back bunch. We tend to let the weekend unfold as it goes along. There will be a lot of Opel and non Opel related conversation, plenty of food and beverages, games for those interested, perhaps a cruise of the back roads and covered bridges and we typically line all of the cars up in the front yard along the road. We usually draw in some passersby and ocassionally initiate some entertaining comments from motorists. I have attached a list of area lodging for those in need. Hope to see you here! Duane |

Looking forward to seeing you Tom. It will be great to see Brian and the old freebie again too. It'll be cool to see that car make the trip out and back under its own power.
