Yeah after I posted I remembered he was thirsty and was coming in early!
I may take a ride up tomorrow evening after work and make sure every one is doing their share to fill up the recycling bucket.

I'll bring some Yuengling B&T since that's popular, and also a special Octoberfest that's only brewed once a year.
My plan is to leave Saturday AM and hopefully get there around lunch/early afternoon. No Opel unfortunately - likely my little silver "Road Warrior" Sentra. And I'll be bringing Jim a Manta downpipe. See you guys tomorrow! Todd K. |

Sorry guys, Brian & I wont be able to attend. I haven't been feeling well the last few days & decided to wait until now to see if I thought I could make the drive. Brian's wife, a nurse, was unexpectedly called to work this weekend even though she requested off. So he has to watch the little one.
Bob, I was able to get ahold of Ron before he left though. He picked up 2 cases of Shiner Bock for you. Have fun guys & have a few (or more) for me. ![]() ~ Tom |

Thank you to the MantAscona's
Duane, Lynn, Shelby & Erin:
Thanks for a great time; fun as always ![]() It was good seeing everyone again, and better being able to help with the reassembly of the hillclimb car. The fact that Adam surprised me by making the trip home from school only made it better. I'll post some pix in a day or two, after I return to work (the T1 line is much friendlier for uploading photos than my home setup). Rick, Adam, Alyson & Tom |

Thanks to the Foley household for a totally awesome weekend!!!!
It is a good thing that you live in a rural area because last night was rockin'. ![]() It was great to see so many friends gathered around eating, drinking and telling stories and sharing their Opel knowledge. Someday I might be able to tackle a front or rear end rebuild. I look forward to seeing the hill climb car in action. Again thanks to Duane, Lynn, Shelby & Erin for putting up with us and I hope everyone had a safe drive home. |

Kick a little asphalt

Glad to hear everyone made it home safely!
As always, we had a great time hanging with all of you wonderful people. Even though we had a smaller crowd this year, the fun meter was off the scale. I think we may have set a new OctOpel Fest record for the consumption of brewed beverages too. ![]() Festivities began Thursday evening with the arrival of Dennis from NH. Friday was a day of last minute preparations and the afternoon arrival of Bob and Gregg from CT and MA, Dave from NJ and Rick and Evan from PA. Saturday we had all of the above and Ron, Todd, Kevin, Jim, Adam, Alyson, Tom and Jim the hillclimb car painter all from PA. Sunday we had Dennis, Todd, Ron, Evan, Jennifer and Jeff (a new comer). Friday we began assembling the hill car and hung out talking and drinking until about midnight. Saturday was a long day of fun that involved more assembly work on the hill car and a rocking evening as DJ Jazzy Quagmire was spinning the hits late into the night. We ended the day at 2am gathered around the fire. Sunday was a quiet wrap up day with most leaving by noon to head for home while Todd, Evan and Jennifer hung out until early evening. I know I say it every year, but you people really are the greatest bunch of friends we could ever ask for. Thank you all for being our guests and choosing to spend a bit of your lives with us. We miss you already. ![]() Duane, Lynn, Shelby, Erin and Mandy-Moo Last edited by MantAscona; 10-12-2008 at 11:28 PM.. |

About the "record"
Well just for giggles, I went out and counted the amount of bottles in the recycling container.... 98
, some of them were doubles from Dennis, which are actually equivalent to 2 beers - so more like 108! Lets see that's 14 people...some who only had a few... some who had none... I think we may need an Intervention. My liver is not speaking to me any longer. It was a great time, thanks to everyone who could make it and hope to see you all again next year. xoxo Lynn
