Hey, that sounds like a great idea.....the Opels of Ca and Az getting together for a caravan to Wa. this year 2009 Opel Nationals. Let's get busy and get this organized. Got time to think about it, Plan the trip and stopovers. Sounds like a lot of fun.

If they are coming up I-5 I can suggest a good little steak house in Portland.
It's funny. Most people think it's a nudie bar that serves steak but its really a steak house that has nude dancers.

Not that I have ever been there.

Well, where and when the folks want to have a stopover is up to the folks, but don't forget this is a "Family" meet. By that I mean Wives, Children, Mothers, Father's, You now.....a family event. So lets keep it at that. But thanks for the suggestion.

Oh, oops, I meant to add that there is a take-out window at the steak house so you don't have to go inside and a nice family-friendly park just up the street... The nude women thing was a warning so the family folks wouldn't accidently walk inside....

Thank you for the suggestion. What we usually do is to post names of Restaurants and such closer to our event that folks may like to try. We do have to give thought to safe and clean places to stay, making sure that our guests are comfortable and to..enjoying themselves. This year particularly, many will be coming from across country,so we must consider them. Do watch this site for future announcements especially regarding the "Caravans"
headed north to Washington. Maybe you could organize one from Orgeon!

Well, right now I would have tons of time to organize and gather people but probably less time the closer to the event. At least I hope to have a real job by then. ~L

BTW, as for the comments on the nudie bar and such, I am really just joking. I realize I don't have the same sense of humor as many but I amuse myself from time to time.

Would love to drive my Kadett there.. but since that would be two weeks of driving and gas.. I think it maybe better to take the $300 flight

O.K. Folks, Here we go. The events schelude ( places, dates, and info.). This year's Opel Nationals will kick off Friday, July 17, 10:00 A.M. with Breakfast, "Carr's Resturant" (11006 Bridgeport Way S.W. Lakewood, Wa. Exit #125 off of Interstate 5). Following Breakfast, We will Gather our Opel Folks and Opels for a fun Car Cruise to the Beautiful Mount Rainier National Park!! The Cost to enter the National Park will be $10.00. This will be a great experience to Cruise one of America's Land Marks and see snow in July. (Lot's of it). A perfect place for Picture taking with your Opel!!!

SATURDAY July 18, The actual 2009 Opel Nationals Will begin at 11:00 A.M. At "Kelley's Kafe" (16302 Pacific Ave. Spanaway, Wa.) WE Hope to see you all there, with or without an Opel. You are Welcome to join the fun of Opels, Opels, Opels, Opels! To end the Perfect Day of the 2009 Opel Nationals, we are planning a Dinner to relax and enjoy the water front of "Ruston Way" located on Puget Sound. Will be announced at a later date.

Sunday July 19, For those of you who just can't leave us just yet, 10:00 A.M. "meet in the parking lot " of the "Great Wall of China" 8217 S. Hosmer St. Tacoma, Wa. Exit #129 of Interstate 5. ( Don't go in Restaurant) WE will cruise up I-5 (north bound to Fife, Wa.) Approximately 11:00 A.M. "Brunch" at the Emerald Queen Buffet Restaurant. Cost of Brunch $17.95per person. 1:00P.M. Is the actual National Event being held at Kelley's Kafe the whole day on Saturday or is it just a meeting place?

Hi Kyle, Great to hear from you!! Yes, The main event of the National's will be held all day at "Kelley's Kafe" Spanaway, Wa. There will be a relaxing dinner following....We will announce the location at a later date. But it will be on the Waterfront though. Do you have more suggestions for us? We welcome all.
