2008 Opel Nationals Pictures!

Curtis Tucker, from North Carolina, sent me a link to his postings of the 2008 Opel Nationals in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is from Curtis:

Check out the photos at MobileMe Gallery.
I wanted to make these photos of the Fall 2008 Opel Nationals available to club
members and those at the Nationals.

Great pictures! Thanks Curtis!

Not sure if it is my computer or what, but I can't get the link to work. It actually locks up my browser.

Vickie,
From what others have said, it must be your computer. There are some great pictures of you and the V8 GT!

Not one Ascona? I only looked at the picture titles because it takes a long time to load but I didn't see any.

Like Gene says.
Plus here's the main opelgt.com album for the 2008 Nationals if you haven't seen it yet.

Won't open for me either. Tried IE6 and Firefox and letting it run for over an hour with not luck on either browser.
MobilMe just isn't compatible with some of our browsers apparently.

Oh wow, nice car. Why does the picture title say Opel Kadett? It reminds me of my first car (only yours is much nicer), a 1978 Toyota Corolla wagon.

The guy, who's gallery that is, may not have looked very closely. We had grouped the cars before entering the track, GTs, then Mantas, then Kadetts. But, seeing as mine was the only Ascona, and was right in front of the Kadetts, he just labeled it that way. Here's a link to a better picture before I added a second set of lights and changed the wheels.

Sorry that I labeled your Ascona as a Kadett. Using the link to your cars photo on opelgt, I have gone back in my gallery and labeled your car as an Ascona.

The 2008 Opel Nationals was the first Opel event I have attended. I was at the hotel and the event for three days and talked to you the most on Sunday. You may or may not remember me by my user ID of Snapshot.

I had an Opel GT around 1975 to 1977. I now have a 1972 Opel GT restore car and a parts car. After the 2008 Fall Opel Nationals I am interested in knowing more about all the mobels of Opel.

I am sorry for those PC users that are having trouble with the MobileMe link which is said to be usable by PC's. I have both Apple and PC and I have far, far less trouble with my Apple that my PC.

I have started uploading these photos the opelgt gallery in the 2008 Fall Opel National folder. I only have the Best in Show photos done so far.

I finally got the link to open at work, but it ran very slowly and said it overloaded the memory. However, the pictures I saw were great!

I remember the "Snapshot" screen name, but, not your real name. But, like the other guy stated, he went in looking for Ascona(s) and did see one, but, was just looking at the picture titles. Since I was the only Ascona there, I wanted to make sure people in the future could find the picture. Thank you for changing the title.

Really great pics. Amazing quality. I didn't recognize the name but figured that it was Snapshot from the angles at the awards.

Gene, it should say 'Caravan' or 'Voyager' depending on the country!
I remember seeing an Ascona 'A' wagon in the UK that had 'Voyager' emblems on it...right hand side IIRC. I have a photo somewhere...
Is it an Ascona wagon or...?

Harold;
I didn't want to hurt Snapshot's feelings and really make the point that it's an Ascona A Wagon, Sportwagon (US) or Ascona A Voyage/Caravan. Surfice to say I'm more than happy that he changed it to Ascona and didn't come here to GA to rip my head off!

Surfice (sp) Gene just because we in the South may pronounce it that way doesn't mean that's how it's spelled.

You know I'm just giving you a hard time because I'm fairly certain I can out run you, that and you're approx. 4 hours away.
