OMC Santa Barbara Shrimp Run
When: 8AM to 8:45 AM Saturday April 18th 2009 Where: Denny's 22027 Burbank Blvd Woodland Hills Ca 818 884 6952 Denny's is off the 101 Topanga Canyon Blvd exit then head north, turn left on Burbank Blvd and you are there. We will depart from Denny's at 9 AM SHARP so do not come late If you miss us then catch up at the Rock Store on Mulholland Drive My cell phone is 760 497 5360 if there is service in the mountains call me if you get lost All the best Come with a full tank of gas a positive mental attitude a good appetite and at least $20.00 - $30.00 for lunch. I am deslectic so i can spell mom dad and wow right too
Also RADAR .... Yes Otto please repair the words to SHRIMPS So far it is The Knox's, the Hoffmann's Kathy and I and maybe the Martinez family coming from San Diego county. Hope the Orange La and Ventura Counties also make the run. Can't wait to bite into some shirmps

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!! That Dennys is right by my house so I will be able to go!!! This is going to be my first outing out with other Opelers since I was like 7, and Gil was still in Canoga Park!!! I can hardly wait for this event!!! Count me in!!!

Looking forward to it too I think I will be the only Kadett Wagon going Hope more people will make a committment to coming too I wonder how Andrew G is doing? and Sal ? and Manny? and Larry ? and Kenny ? and Dels ? and Roger ? and Dick ? and Tom ? and Rick ? and Kevin B. in Ventura and so many other OMC members from LA Ventura counties.That would be 10 more cars running through Topanga Mulholland and up the 101 !! How about people who's coming eh? Live longer and prosper more and show up this is a great event !! |

Well it is getting close to the event and i find myself getting more and more excited everyday, the anticipation is killing me. Unfortunately however my opel gt was involved in a crash, and i dont know if it will be ready by the time of the event. The body work is all done and i just got the approval of the insurance company today so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is ready by the event but I just dont know, because it still needs a suspension rebuild. Anyway my question is if i dont have my opel by the time of the cruise, can i take my harley or maybe ride with another person? Also i would like to know how many people are going on this cruise because i am trying to convince my dad to let me a have a little bbq at my house for when we get back, So i would have to know how many people are planning on attending so I can tell my father and see what he says.

Not sure if having a BBQ with the OMC club at your house will work as we will be stuffed from the Lobster Crab and shrimp from lunch time and everyone may not be heading back to Woodland Hills from SB, but it sure was a great jesture on your part to invite us all. I am thinking we could have between 10 -20 cars but maybe less?? Never know until the day of an event who shows up. Hope all goes well for your GT repairs and you can make it too |

Jim, you have a valid point that everyone may not be comming back to the Woodland Hills area after the run, and you are also right that we will all probably be stuffed from the shrimp. I guess that means that i will not have a bbq at my house, because in this care there are just to many variables it seems. But maybe when it gets a little further into summer, I can host somthing, now that i know the opel club is willing to come out this way.

Hi Jim,
Opel is up and working but so will I on Saturdays. I will see you all on some Sunday outings. Do you know if Ron is going to make it? Have fun and eat some shrimp for me. BTW, I will be bringing my Opel GT to Coffee and Cars in Balboa park auto musium 7-9 am on april 26th. Over 200 classics show up. Have fun, John |

Due to health problems Kathy and I will not be attending
Just so everyone who was planning to meet up with us knows.
I regretfully must inform you all that Kathy has a herniated disk and can not make the fun run to Santa Barbara. I need to care for her so I will not be able to come either If you meet at the Denny's please go and have fun All the details are in the OMC Blitz with a map. Moby Dicks has great food so enjoy the day, wish we were able to come. Hopefully next time |

No pics because no shows That is what I am thinking The Blitz came out just a week or less before the event and gave OMC members little advanced notice I emailed Classic Opel Group on Yahoo Opelers on yahoo posted here on OpelGT.com several times and got very little response, and commitment from the Opel community So maybe OMC people will come to Escondido Deer Park Winery for the picnic IF we can get that site again for August I will look into it asap Jim Jim |
