Enjoying winter ? ![]() How about setting up a meet prior to Carlisle ? Something just a little closer to home to allow for a more gentle wake-up for the cars. Let's start planning something - taking suggestions for a date, etc. Jim (timemachine) has offered to host; he's in Swarthmore, PA. Rick |

Okay, Rick has decided to hold his new annual party at my house and you're all welcome, just RSVP with Rick first.
![]() But seriously, I've wanted to have something at my place for a while, so everybody's welcome to see my cool new garage though it's not really set up yet and mostly holds three Opels and hand tools with a parts GT parked outside we can sawzall for fun. (Feel free to bring lift, compressor, welder, milling machine etc. )My place is conveniently located right near the intersection of I-95 and the Blue Route, just a little south of Philly Intl. Airport. That means our friends from the MD/DC area will see a pretty easy trip since Delaware is all of 20 minutes and I'm not far past that. I can put some folks up overnight if need be. Are you hearing me Mitch Manta? Todd, you're already nearby. So, let's pick an April weekend and I'll start sweeping up. Jim

I have nothing going on in April at this time, so as soon as some dates start popping up I'll put it on my calendar. Only thing on got going on is prepping the Manta for a paint job and then put it back together for Carlisle.

I'm in for any weekend in April. I just have to make some of my cars run by then.

How does the weekend around Saturday, April 18 sound? I can accommodate a few folks who might want to arrive the night before or stay over Saturday if necessary.

Looks like the 18th is the best day overall, hope Jeff can find a way to come down anyway.
Mitch Manta dropped a note today to say he's coming. Anybody have Todd Kirby's info? I lost my contacts in a HD meltdown recently, so I am a little blind. PA, NJ, MD, VA etc. Opelers and wannabees are all welcome, car or not. Need an Opel GT? I am conveniently located near the intersection of I-95 and the Blue Route (I-476) just 10 minutes north of delaware, 10 minutes to the Walt Whitman, 5 minutes to the Commodore Barry. Jim

Hi Jim, I'll PM you my details. Unfortunately I'm not likely to make the event on the 18th as I still have the commute from hell - haven't 100% ruled it out yet but with work and home being 5hrs apart my weekends are pretty full, especially with Spring coming.
I STILL have the bumper rubber Gregg sent for you in my car! We need to meet up some evening during the week! Todd

Absolutely Rick!
There are some good places around where I work, and I'm sure Jim's situation is similar. For that matter, the hotel where I stay has free beer on tap (Yuengling or Coors Lite) every Tues-Thurs from 5:30-7:30. ![]() Todd

Would anyone going to this meet be able to help me while I'm there?
I would like to get Otto Start and these jets installed: Primary (32): Main 135; Air 150 Secondary (36): Main 150; Air 165 I have a Pertronix electronic ignition and a stock engine with a Weber 32/36 DGEV carb out of the box installed. I know this has been discussed to no end but after reading all the jetting threads this is what I think I need. I haven't ordered anything yet so please let me know. Thanks. Ran into a bit of bad luck today. Does anyone have a passenger's side seat belt they are willing to part with and bring to the meet? Of course I would be willing to pay for it. I don't need the part the seat belt clips into.
Edit: I found what I needed. No need for anyone to bring one. Last edited by 74Opel1900; 03-20-2009 at 09:57 AM. |
