A great day to hang out in Colfax with some of the other mid-West Opel heads. Thanks again to Paul and Lezlie for hosting the gathering. Lots of great food, great people, and great cars! We even managed to stay dry this year.
Hoping to see you all at Springfield, if not sooner.Ron in Indy |

Connie and I want to add our thanks to Paul and Lezlie for their hospitality. As Sawdust said it was a great day for a 3 or 400 mi round trip. We actually made a weekend of it by overnighting in Terre Haute to see some family. If you live within 200 mi of Colfax you should really think about making this event. No entry fee, great food, nice folks, Fine Opels. As time goes on and if Paul and Lezlie can continue to put up with us this should be one of the Best midwest Opel get togethers. If you missed it this year plan to be there next year.

Had a Great time Saturday!
Paul and Leslie:
Thanks again for your hospitality. I enjoyed the food and the fellowship. It is always good to see other Opels (and non-Opel cars) and talk to their owners! Lets hope for the same nice weather next year. Randy S. |

Great Opel Gathering
Thanks to Paul and Lezlie we had access to everything that makes an event "Special". Along with everyone who drove in from the Chicago area, the state of Illinois, western Indiana, Opelers from the local area along the town folks plus Mother Nature we had the most casual and interesting car show I have ever attended. It was small enough to meet everyone yet large enough to line the entire yard with Opel GT's, a Solitus, a Dodge and a Porsche. The community table feast was like an old time farm family setting down for conversation and more food and drink than could be consumed. The host and a fellow Opeler offered a variety of items in raffle style. I learned everything from those who had had recent surgeries, what vendors Opelers were using, where people were going after the event and why the small town had so many folks with cars in various stated of restoration. The hospitality was the best. Thanks to everyone who participated.
