Carlisle 09 wrap-up
For the last couple of years the Hotel has charged us for the use of the room, and we have collected $5/head to cover the cost with the remainder going to Gary for the website fees. This year we had an unexpected bonus, when I was checking in and asked about the conference room rate, I was told we were not getting charged this year, so I decided to make contributions voluntary, with all money collected going to Gary for the site, and to make sure Dave broke even on the cost of the trophies. As proof to the nature of our Opeling group, the contributions flowed in, some put $5 in the pot, others opted for $10, a couple threw in $20, and one individual put in $40….an outstanding result, especially in these financially challenging times. Below is the list of names taken directly from the clipboard…any omissions and/or speeling errors is directly related to the amount of alcohol involved when people tried to write their names….and me trying to read it 3 days later…. Ron Mattern Derek Burroughes Rob Cassidy Pete Anastos Elmer O’Boyle Todd Kirby Jeff Herman Craig Roberts Kevin Fier Don McLean Terry Burford Steve Goines Steve Daniels Henry Padlo Otto Bartsch Thomas Kahlert Brian Marsh Jim Ericson Dennis Boldoc Vicky Gage Tom Cavatao Edwin Monsees Dieter Heimue Bill Hoffmann Andy Schor Charles Goin Tom & Alyee Wagner Duane Foley Mike Lane Dave Fisher Roy Bell Todd Kirby Rick & Adam Gradwell Allen Gage Mitchell Shapiro John Rodriguez Bud & Pat Joyner. A big THANK YOU to all of you (twice in Todd’s case!) Rgds, Rob C.

Who won the various classes?
I have read the Carlisle 2009 thread but I didn't see the list of judged winners. I got from the thread that Markanderson with his 6 year super project - GOLD GT won Best of Show but I didn't see the other winning cars. Can you or someone help me out? This is my second year of missing the Carlisle Show for caregiving reasons. Maybe next year!
THANK YOU,

Paul,
When I stopped collecting on the Sat night, the total was $345, but I do believe there was another $31 paid directly to Gary after that, and the names added to the collection sheet...I'm sure Gary can confirm or correct me....

Gulp. Since I accidentally slept through the Saturday Night conference room activities, I wasn't able to contribute to the pot or sign the clip board.
So I'll add my contribution next time I donate to Gary on the web site pay pal link, if that's okay. After showering and eating dinner, I laid down in my motel room for what I thought would be about 20 min or so just to recoup a bit. When I woke up, it was 1:45AM.

I waited as long as I could Harold and had to stagger back to the tent shortly after 02:00. I never did get to talk with you this year as I was too busy yapping and you were busy running a towing service. Kudos to you for that! I enjoyed our conversation last year.

Pics are starting to show up in the Gallery, under Carlisle 2009. Tony helped out with the two different shirts that were sold. Mike Lane (opellane) brought out a new Manta shirt to match the GT ones. Here's the link to the auction: Opel GT / MANTA T-Shirts:eBay Motors (item 120424134166 end time May-31-09 19:44:45 PDT) He also helped with the Carlisle shirt too, as seen in post 51 &52 of this thread: http://www.opelgt.com/forums/general...t-shirt-3.html

I have some extra t-shirts from the Carlisle show. I am not sure what sizes I have left but I will post what I have left tomorrow. Since the t-shirts invoice was paid in full the sale price of the t-shirt will go directly to this web site. Shipping looks like it will be around $5.00 a shirt using either USPS or UPS.
