I'm flattered that Chris considers that green stuff growing
in my back yard to be a lawn, (and with a capital "L" at that.) More in keeping as to where most of us have found our Opels I'd like to rename the TGT - Opels in the Weeds. With the threat of being guests of honor looming over them my goats are hard at it to get the weeds down to at least knee high by the 6th. And don't worry, I've got almost all of them trained not to climb on the hoods of cars. Got enough room in back for upwards of a dozen cars so come one, come all, games, prizes, lap dances, nah, just kiddin', I don't do lap dances, unless you're a really good tipper. |

trouble in River City
Howdy folks,
The powers that be at Raley's don't figure I'm worthy of a day off next Saturday. ![]() If I work at midnight that won't be a problem otherwise here's a couple options: Chris (opelwasp) can be host pro tem till I get home, or, we can reschedule for the next day (Sunday), or, I can, all of a sudden like, come down with a bad case of Opelitis. Let me or Chris know what should be done. Thanks, Don. |

I would love to come but at this point in time, do not count on me being there. I will keep my options open for the day. Quentin may come home so if he does, I will let you know. Chris, sorry I missed your call last night. My cell phone only works intermittently here at the house.

Hey all, you have a favorite comfy folding chair, bring it. Don doesn't have enough to go around. OSH has them for $10 if you need one quick.

RSVP: My wife and I will be there.
Looks like rain (in June????) on Thursday / Friday. I don't know about Saturday yet. But just yesterday I waxed & buffed the GT for our annual 6-month dry season! It can't rain. I promise to sacrifice a piece of ground up cow. And a beer. |

Howdy folks,
Beans, burgers, buns, and beer bought. Goats eating grass like their life depended on it. (it does!) Tried out the horseshoe pit last night, workin' good. No rain in the forecast for tomorrow, temp to be 75*, can't beat that. (by the way, if the kids (or you) are expecting to see farm animals here, I'm only kidding about the goats.) See you here. Don. Hiway 50 east to 59th st offramp, turn right at the light, go across the bridge (59th street bridge song, remember that one? Slow down, you're movin' to fast, got to make the morning last......) anyway, get across the bridge, second house down on the right, across from the church. Coming from the east you have to get off at 65th, go through the light to 59th st, turn left and there you are. |

Well we had a great time at the Nor Cal Opels on the Lawn. We had 4 Opels show up. 2 GT's a manta and a 1900 wagon. There were about 14 of us. All in all it was great food and great fellowship. Roy ended up stopping by with his daughter after everyone had left.
Thanks Don for the use of your back yard. Hopefully next year we will have more attend. Next year I won't plan it on Dennis' birthday. Thanks to all who attended: Dieter and family Keith and wife Neil and dog DJ and beer Roy and daughter a little late Don and his BBQ grill and yard

thanks to all for coming, the weather couldn't have
been more favorable, that's for sure. My neighbor's birthday party picked up just as everyone departed, so, being the good neighbor that I am, I had to go over and help celebrate. All in all, made for a 24 hour day. Don't want to do that very often. C-ya. |

Top of Mt. Hamilton perhaps. I believe the Opel group has a standing offer that includes the 1st round of drinks for any that make the trip if the host's family still owns the restaurant. If I'm wrong, then it appears I'll be obligated to provide the 1st round.

From the East side of San Jose, our place is just 15 minutes up Mt. Hamilton Rd. Mt. Hamilton Grandview Restaurant. If you go another 45 minutes up to the top of the mountain you would be at Lick Observatory. I was thinking a Saturday afternoon in Oct. or Nov. would be a good time of the year to make this run. Another good time would be March - May. The best place to be in August is near the cool ocean breezes of the California coast. Jerry |
