    Tacoma Wa. Opel SHow

I just received notice that the 16th Annual Opel Show in Tacoma is going to be held on July 15th, 2006. It will be from 11am-5pm. It's going to be held at the A&W Drive-In on 8442 Pacific Ave. in Tacoma. There's supposed to be a lot of stuff going on. I've never been to one YET, but look forward to being there this time. I will finally be able to put a face to all the OpelGT.Com names. If you have attended this meet before, tell me what it's like and what to expect.

Tupelo MS is having it's Blue Suede Cruise May 5 through the 7th. Mostly 50s and 60 detroit vintage. Last year I saw ONE import and it was a Volkswagon Bug. Hopefully I'll keep mine running and it'll be there.

I have been to the Tacoma show 4 or 5 times and it is a decent event with 30 or so Opels in attendance. One year a Gt powered by a WWII P-51 engine was a trip (especially when he started it up)
Kyle's beautiful Conrero GT was a treat last year as are many of the cars.
It is a great excape from the Arizona summer heat for myself and Susan.

Well, Lessee, I'm retarded, fixed income, kids are all grown and gone with kids of their own, who have kids too. And I'm going cross country from InSANe DIEGO, to Tennessee, then to Cincinnati for a dog show, and they're not even my dogs!! But, and it's a large but, I may be able to put Willit? on the trailer and bring it along, maybe.

    Willit?

Ron, I would love to see Willit? I hope that you swing by Tacoma with the dogs.

James, that would have been one heck of a detour to swing up your way. Although Margaret does have family in the Seattle area. Maybe we'll make a trip that way someday, and if Willit? is done, it will go on the trailer in back of the rig for sure. I'm sure her brother would like to see it also.

    Willit?

That's sounds really cool. I have been following the thread passionately and would love to see it in the flesh someday. I notice you are from San Diego area? I'm going to the Mariniers game tomorrow to watch them play the Padries. Go M's!

    Tacoma's 2006 "Gathering of Opels"

Only a few days away from Tacoma's 2006 "Gathering of Opels." We hope that everyone on our mailing list received a flyer giving all the info.
If not, the Gathering will be on July 15 from 11:00 A.M. til 5:00 P.M. Located
(same as last year) at the A&W Drive In 8442, Pacific Ave. Tacoma, Wa.
There will be a swap meet, door prizes and just plain old fun talking "Opel."

This is sadly, the last year that MawandPaw Opel will be attending and helping to sponser the Gathering. We have really enjoyed getting together
with all you Opel Lovers each year. But the time has come to "Get another
Life." We do wish you all the best, will cry some tears if we get buzzed buy another Opel passing us by.

Good Luck to you all in keeping the OPEL Clubs Active and the Opel G.T.
    still on the road.

Parts Swap at Tacoma Show? Chrome Bumpers?

I am nearly complete on my restoration and would like to replace my good rear bumpers with some rear bumpers with chrome in excellent condition.

I will be at the Northwest Opel show in Tacoma on Saturday if you call me at 206.669.2255.

    Thanks!

    Tacoma Opels

And a good time was had by all! Good people, lots of nice Opels and a beautiful day. Couldnt ask for anything more. Gill and Dennis from OGTS were up from sunny Cal and brought some nice prizes for the raffle.
Many thanks to Ma and Paw Opel for all their hard work and dedication.

Good looking group of Opels there Duane. Are there more pictures with whose car belongs to whom? Whose is the Brown one next to the tent in the 2nd picture? Jarrell
