So I'm guessing they'd frown on giving the guy ahead of you a little "tap" just to let him know you're there?
It's neat to see a GT on the track.

No Opels were harmed in the filming of this movie. However two Mustangs, a Pinto, and a Capri were hospitalized. One Mustang was euthanized the next morning. |

Historic Rac/car Show - Pacific Nw 2007
It's that time of the year again. I just received an email from the event coordinator:
***** ....With Camaro being selected as the featured marque and Parnelli Jones as the guest celebrity, there may be a large turnout from the Camaro and Mustang clubs this year. As in the past, preregistration (one package per club, please!) is required. Deadline is June 15, unless the 250 car limit is reached before that date. If any of you have any association with clubs that have not participated in the car corral in the recent past, please feel free to pass this information along to them. Hope to see you at the Pacific Northwest Historics on June 29 through July 1. Again, you can email me via my Hotmail account if your "interested" at this time. You need to let me know for sure by June 15th if you would like to attend. I'll have more details soon. kgm1969@hotmail.com |

One more bump. I'll start collecting entry fees ($25 per day or $40 for both Saturday and Sunday)
Featured marquee this year is Camero. You can message me here or email me at kgm1969(at)hotmail.com so I can get your info. I'll do one more reminder at the end of May. Deadline is June 15th. Check the above messages for more details. It's the same this year as of last year..... ALL OPEL'S WELCOME!!!!!!!!! Last edited by soybean; 05-06-2007 at 06:53 PM.. Reason: Email spiders |

Don't know if I'll be there or not - still working on getting my car road worthy. I'll need at least one shake-down road trip before driving Route 66 (the historic route) in September.
Is there a drop-dead date for registering? I assume a late registration fee would be imposed. I forgot to mention this, but, I've just got to see & hear the Conero. Last edited by soybean; 05-06-2007 at 06:53 PM.. |

Anybody that likes fast cars, loud exhausts and the smell of racing fuel, missed a GREAT time!
We only had 3 Opels again this year. Kyle with his Conero (even better the last year with some added graphics and a front air dam). Joe Watt with his excellent white 70, and my orange 73. AS you can see from the picture we even had an offical sign this year for our area (between 3 Panterras and a group of Alphas). Sure was fun to take the GTs on the track, even though our speed was limited by the officials and a Datson 1600 that thought he was in a school zone . Pict 1 is setting in line getting ready to go o the track ( you can see Kyles Conero through Joes window ). Pict 2 is the GTs in the car corral. |

Do you guys come down to the Portland Historic races at PIR? I've gone every year for the past 5 years and have never seen an opel. Makes me want to get my Manta going but I have to sell it instead. At least one of them, the one with a title. I might hold on to the '74 Ralley and build it for track use some day.... after I'm done with the '62 T'bird convertable... and find the paper work to register the Daytona Shelby I bought and fixed... someday.
