Educating the General Public

One of my first real outings with my GT.
Is this how it'll be everyday?

Took her to work today. Brake pedal isn't quite right but nothing is hot and it does stop decent just soft pedal.
Drove through the hood and a gangsta shouted at me to find out what I was driv'n. I yelled OPEL but don't think he got it.
Then at the brake shop the kid at the counter looked out the window, while still on the phone, put his hand over the receiver and said "excuse me sir (still ain't used to 'sir") is that your red Nissan?"
"Nissan!!"
"Isn't that a Z on the hood?"
"It's an Opel, that's a lightening bolt"
Nice guy, found me a brake hose clip but I lost it already.
Anyway, after working at night job, "raced" Dale on the highway (same guy who has an Audi TT). He had his 96 Impala, so no, not much of a race
I got her up to 110 (or so the speedo said, probably off by at least 5) but even so, she was nice and steady, about 4800 rpm, and still pulling (or so it seemed) before I had to either slow down or run up the rear of a semi, I choose the former
I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

Most young people you will have to tell what it is. They didn't see the car first hand and even the oldtimers have mostly forgotten about them until you mention them. At least that my expirience.

Tis the very reason for my license plate (in avatar)... get asked it alomst daily. And even when you answer, "An Opel GT", it often brings a blank stare, or the follow up question, "Who makes it?"
