First Road Trip

Got back from first road trip yesterday. About 700 miles. GT was FLAWLESS and very enjoyable. My buddies were on their motorcycles, me in my GT, which was a bit weird. We lucked out on the weather. Mid 70's and total sun so GT wasn't too warm. Only problem was exhaust broke again, in the same spot I had welded about 6 weeks ago so I'm off to see if the guy will weld it again, he should, I paid too much for the job the first time and have already been back once before. So other than being LOUD the second half of the trip, it was perfect.
I got pulled over too! Country road, 67 in a 55, I was going down a big hill, I was very nice and respectful and must have been cute enough for the female sherriff who let me off with a verbal warning. Big sigh.
Went to a HUGE (probably close to 700 cars) car show last night. The GT got some attention and was the ONLY OPEL. I couldn't stay long and didn't get to hang out and chat like I wanted (kids and time limits) but it was fun.

Sounds like you had a great time. I was just in the UP on vacation a couple weeks ago and passed near the Traverse City area on the way back. You should try to get a picture of your car on the Mackinac Bridge next time out - that would cool! . That stretch between Traverse City and the bridge makes for a nice drive!

Yes, it's very nice country. There's a road up there called M 119 between Harbor Springs and the bridge, extreme twisties, almost a mini Tail of the Dragon. M22 from Manistee all the way up the Lelanau Penn. back to Traverse was our main route this year. Very nice.
