seems like ebay always has whole starter with solenoid for $19 or less, hard to justify mess'n around for that
As for tools, short handled socket wrench helps for the bottom one. I got under the car even with that.

Remanufactured Starters

Online Auto Parts and Auto Accessories Store at PartsAmerica.com has remanufactured starters for $40 to $47, plus core charge. Order over $50 is free shipping. I would rather replace complete starter than find exact replacement components. GTs' used Delco-France and Bosch starters. There might be a 3rd P/N, but not home at the present time to check.

I purchased a remaned AC Delco starter from a GM dealer in April '06. Part number 19135160. List price was $114.54. I paid almost half that due to the relationship I have with the dealer.

yeh i bought a bosch starter today ill give the part# in the morning it was a reman. and it was 96$ out the door... not such a good buy for me but i only have one day left to work on the car and get it reg. before i need to go to work again in summit kinda by vail, CO... so I just did it... we only have 3-5- weeks of no snow left in the season so i felt it was time to bite the bullet and rep the O p e l clan while I still can... I also bought some bright bright H lights for 24.99 each... tomarrow i will run the new wires and see how bright they are... i forgot which one of the wires that are green and black and one is red and black go where on the starter... tomarrow im gunna post a pic so any help as to which one would be great...also which color goes where i know there is a yellow white and brown... brown is ground... white and yellow are dims and brights... there are three pins im guessing bottom is ground does it matter which color goes left or right??? ill take some other good pics as to where i replaced the headlight wires so its an easier process for someone who reads this... thanks to all who replied to my post! im thinking about bringing the opel up in the spring to pull some swirlies and spins in the big open ski area parking lots!
