Run in the Southern Sun
We met at the Wigram AirForce Museum: RNZAF Museum Wigram Went inside out of the cold and sat in the Cafe' looking through Opel boks and brochures while sipping coffee and eating homemade steak pies. Decided that the 120kph winds on Banks Peninsula ( Banks Peninsula, Canterbury ) were too risky and went on a Garage Crawl to see the Opels stashed away by the members present. Found out that there is an Opel Omega being prepared for Classic Racing too. I did not know there were so many Opel Monzas in Christchurch - between us there are at least eight.

Its always great to find a few more cars buried in garages!!! Glad to hear you arent alone over there in New Zealand Jim
I wish I would have photographed all the Opels I've run across over the years, many of which I'm sure have gone to that great Opel graveyard in the sky. You've got the same look on your face in the picture that I've had many times before......"where do I put all this stuff so I can work on the car???" ![]() Joe

Not Mine!
That IS me .. just opening my glasses case to examine the Monza that belongs to one of the Opel guy's sister ... when we got to his place we were taken across the road to his sister's house where there were more Opels.
That Monza was in her shed (my workshop is larger, more untidy - and has no baby bed ... ) a late model Vectra body on the front lawn and the red Opel Calibra she drives daily, in the driveway. He had several late model Kadetts; a Manta B (to which he plans to fit a SOHC Pontiac six-cylinder motor); a 1972 Chevy Malibu 454 SS and a 1964 Chevy Impala 2-door ... with a 409 cid motor! LOTS OF OPELS!
