Today Was A good Day
Today was a good day. My wife has been in and out of the hospital for months fighting cancer and related complications. We have her at home now on IVs. Today I decided to break the GT out of the garage, having been parked there since September's Opel Nationals & Route 66 trip. She was feeling up to an outing and wanted to ride with me. It's a beautiful day day here with high fog and we drove north through the Vaca Mountains in the GT, stopping at a family winery for refreshment. While enjoying the day and the fact my wife is still with me, I spotted her aunt and uncle who just happened to have stopped at the same place. We followed them up to their their mountain-top home and enjoyed an enjoyable afternoon away from hospital rooms, IVs, doctors, and endless tests. It was absolutely beautiful up there. Peaceful, wooded, quiet. The GT rode well, handled well, looked good. The only snag was coming home when the clutch cable broke loose. 17 minutes and we were back on the road again. She thought I was a hero. It was a good day; one I hope to never forget. We've been together since highschool - and my life would never have been this good without her. I hope all of you enjoy a day as sweet as this. I hope your Opels run well. And I hope all is well with you and yours. |

You've got to enjoy it while you can. There's no guarantee that you or anyone else you know or care about will be around tomorrow. Glad you had one of those days...
