Proof Opelitis is in my Blood!

I've always talked about how I'm a third generation Opeler and I've been around Opels from birth. Here's the proof. That's me as a baby with my Grandfather and Grandmother in a Lime Green Manta. Maybe that's why I HAD to have the Mystery Manta.

If anyone is wondering, yes, I took the picture of Tony. That's my Dad's 74 signal green Manta Rallye, no clone, 4-spd, so it had 3.67 gears. Awesome ride! I'm sitting here typing this and having a little bit of a time holding back a few tears. I often wish my Dad was still here to enjoy Tony getting into Opels. Thank you Tony for the fond memories.......

Hmmm.

Reminds me of the Haggarty commercial. No Air Bags, No seatbelts, No Problem... I guess they thought in case of a wreck they could just hold baby Tony tight enough. Now what ever happened to that car...hmmmm

I figured out what was wrong with Tony now

Keith;
The car was sold to a local ex-Opel mechanic, years ago. His name is John Wynn. John resurfaced here recently, bought a 74 Manta Luxus off another local ex-Opel mechanic Harold Beech (who runs his own business Rockdale Imports) and I have already sold him a few Manta parts. I'll have to ask John what happened to the car.....

I've lived with my Grandmother and Grandfather since I was 5. I can remember that we ALWAYS had Opels in the driveway. I remember that we had a dark blue Manta, a white Ascona wagon, and a couple of GTs. I really wish that I had gotten into Opels back when we had those cars and all the parts before we moved and before we had to get rid of a lot of parts to move.

...who I think I've determined upgraded my pistons to high compression 15 years ago or so... The Opel world really is small!

Matt;
The Opel World is just that, Harold and RallyBob have swapped notes and parts over the years. I don't know if they have ever met face to face, but, they have definitely met. Harold has also done business with Samdog too.
