Opel GT Gas Tank Sock Removal

How to remove fuel tank sock I can not get my hand into the sender unit hole and the fitting on bottom of tank is wet with fuel. I tried to email tim's opel site but his email does not work. Wyn

GOT RID OF THE SOCK AND HIT THE ROAD GOT TO 90 IN THIRD AND FOURTH I GAVE UP AT 130. tHANKS'S FOR ALL THE HELP. RUNS GREAT. THE OPEL GT SURE IS FUN TO DRIVE.
