Lightbulb Bosch Distributor Rev-limiting Rotor links

Thought I had posted this before, but could only find vague references I made in previous posts regarding Bosch Rev-limiting rotors, and no links to where to purchase them.

Bosch manufactured two different Rev-limiting rotors, 5800RPM and 6500RPM, for their distributors used in 1970-71 Porsche 914/6 models. The Porsche 914 distributors are essentially the same internally as our venerable Opel CIH distributors, ergo their rotors can also be used in ours.

Bosch #04030 is the 5800RPM rotor and Bosch #04023 is the 6500RPM rotor. Both rotors can be ordered from RockAuto.com for about $25 each. Just go to their site and look under 1970 Porsche 914/6 - Ignition - Distributor Rotor where you'll find both listed in the resulting dropdown menu.

They also make a 7200 rpm. I'm using a 6500 and it works as advertised. It is basically a centrifugal switch inside the rotor that activates (grounds out) at a specific RPM to act as a rev limiter.

I knew that (actually 7100RPM), but could not find a source or P/N number for the 7100RPM rotor at the time of my post . . . should've looked in my e-mail archives, found it there.

3 flavors of Bosch rev-limit rotors: 5800, 6500, 7100 . . . available here. BTW, those are vendor, NOT Bosch, P/Ns below!

as to how it works
as it spins the horse shoe shaped bit under the centre copper contact slides out to the contact point on the lower left and grounds the charge from the coil so cutting the spark to the plugs dead till the revs come down and the spring inside pulls the slider back off the ground point
