emergency kit

i coach one of the local high school soccer teams (football for our european members) and we had our first playoff game last night. got back to the school parking lot at midnight, went out to the car, started her up, and went to turn on the headlights. suddenly everything shut down. no key click, starter, oil light,..nothing! now most of us probably have a standard emergency kit (flashlight, screwdriver, lug wrench, flares) but maybe our opels require....a little more. what do you keep in your kit?

btw, my flashlight was dead so i couldn't see into the engine compartment but i'm assuming it's a blown fusible link. in the meantime, she sits in some school lot, waiting for high school kids to park next to her and swing their doors wide..argggh.

Here is what I keep in my car

Upper and lower radiator hoses, fan belt, anti-freeze, fuel pump, voltage regulator, jumper cables, oil and FSM. Most of this fits under the rear shelf(not where the spare tire is, it is the "rear seat"). All of my materials are "used" from when I changed them out. They are not permanent fixes, but to get me back home. So far, I haven't needed to use anything.

Check your battery and ground connections.

HTH.
