Fuel pedal too close to brake pedal

Hello,

I have fuel injected 2.2 liter Opel GT (manual transmission). The fuel pedal is very close to the brake pedal because the travel of the pedal (pedal is higher off the floor). Is this right ? Any suggestions on how to get more space between brake pedal and fuel pedal.

Thanks Tony

There just isn't that much room down there for all the pedals. You could have your feet shaved
My nephew has big feet and was wearing flip flops one day ... when he needed to make a quick stop he snagged his big flip flops on the brake pedal and rear ended the car in front. I know it's illegal to drive without shoes around here, not sure if flip flops/sandals count.

REmove the Clutch Pedal

There is room in my auto trans GT for my size 13 feet ... one less pedal makes a big difference!

Yes, I know what you mean. When I had my 4 speed I had trouble with that if I had my work boots on. But with my auto now there is plenty of room.

Designed for heel-and-toe driving, hence the close pedal proximity...

I personally hate pedals that are spaced far apart. Thanks '60 Minutes' for the Audi 5000 'unintended acceleration' scare back in the '80's...now all car manufacturers space their pedals a mile apart to avoid lawsuits.
