Permanent and easy method of fixing broken plastic gauge mounting post on GT dash:

Good idea Otto. I just glue mine back together if I have the piece. If not, then your trick.

Otto, I did the same to mine on one of the speedo posts. I also took a 1" wide x 2" mending plate and cut it to fit between the speedo and tach, drilled new holes, mounted it on the original posts, and it helps reinforce that small area between the speedo and tach that tends to crack. Jarrell

Haven't found gluing them back together to be a permanent fix, regardless of glue used. That's just my experience though.

I have used dry wall screws, it worked

Well, Otto I reinforced them. I was told that much of those old plastic injected parts used a lot of silicone for mold release and therefore they dont glue back very well. so I reinforce it also.
