Weekly Wrap Up Sunday May 31, 2015

Weekly Wrap Up Sunday May 31, 2015

Hey folks this is an OMG kind of week as we are all so exhausted and tired this Sunday. Lots and lots of cleaning and moving and prepping for the Show stuff, all this week.

Moving even more parts also boring in comparison to all the real work at OU. Actually, on reflection, there was a car getting prepped and hand built for a customer, a neat rim and tire set, all stock going on, and yet the same color and theme going on an engine we are hand building to run at the Show. We even included a couple of pictures. This was all done in Small Block Chevy Orange, in not just an acrylic enamel but a ceramic enamel as well. Came out real shiny. Can't wait to build the rest of this guys car, all purchased from Opels Unlimited. He is even adding Air Conditioning and a modern day Stereo worth looking at.

More info coming later. Guys and gals, we are tired and need to sleep now. We all can't wait to see anyone who can show up at the International Opel Picnic and Festival Saturday, June 13, 2015. Anyone attending should call in advance as there is a Road Work change going on on that week as well. We already know an easy way around it, just call ahead of time at 562-690-1051. All the OEC Car Show inquiries as well as directions and Hotel information will be provided from that phone number from now on and through the even itself. It is so good to hear from all of you who are planning to attend from all across the United States. Even people from Europe touching base as well. The possibilities for attendance are endless.

Weekly Wrap Up Monday June 8, 2015

Weekly Wrap Up Monday June 8, 2015

Howdy Folks! This entire week was consumed with preparing for the International Opel Picnic and Festival Saturday June 13, 2015.

We shopped for food and ordered the catered food from Casa Jimenez. With just a few more things added, we will be ready for the Festival. We think everyone will be pleased with what we have planned. A barbeque setting with good ol American Cooking and then a wonderful Menu of Catered Mexican specialties. We are going to set up EZ Up's for shade and fans so that everyone will have a comfortable place to eat and visit.

The grounds of the Manor are looking better than ever. With a combination of Gardeners and our volunteers, spear-headed by Donna, the grounds just look wonderful. The pool is open to anyone wanting to go in, just bring your suits. Todd worked on the fountain and as the centerpiece of the driveway, and it is ready to be the perfect place for pictures during the Festival. Almost every day this week Donna has been here to see to the last detail of the presentation of the Manor. She has more energy than anyone we've ever seen! Definitely a real true Opel Nut!

Along with the grounds, we pulled cars from the private collection to be a part of the "Cars for Sale" section. We equipped them with 15" alloy rims and they are all being spruced up and spit shined for the Festival. We are also bringing over our super star 1969 GT from the museum for this special section. We even have a couple coming to the event to specifically see this car. We are so excited for them. We just know they are going to love it.

Another very special element of the Festival is the Hillbilly Dyno/Engine Stand. This week Todd and Mike worked very hard to have the Engine ready and they were greatly rewarded for their efforts. The Engine and Hillbilly Dyno are here at the Manor and we have pictures of it all set up and ready to roar for the crowd on Saturday. Mike will be on hand to answer any questions and make sure everyone enjoys this unique opportunity to see an engine run outside of an Opel. He is officially in charge to make sure nobody gets hurt and that all get to enjoy this display throughout the event.

In addition to prepping with the Hillbilly Dyno, we worked on Awards and Gift Certificates for the Show. Tammy who is so creative, worked on these items and we have them all set up for the fun activities of the day.

Another terrific aspect of our grand day will be Tammy's Sales Display. Promising to be double of last year, Todd is thrilled. We have been receiving supplies from manufacturers all over the world and have been collecting items from the museum and are set up to present a no holds barred display. Bring some pocket money because you are going to want to shop!

This week promises to be a doozy and we can hardly wait to see you all on Saturday June 13, 2015.

Weekly Wrap Up Sunday June 21, 2015

Weekly Wrap Up Sunday June 21, 2015

Hey Folks! What can we say, this weekend we are still so completely exhausted from putting on the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015. So much work for us jumping from event to event all Summer. As we get older, it is really catching up to us. Of course this OEC event did go very well with lots of attendance and attendees that drove their cars in from out of state.

The awards and give-a-ways, actually quite a sum of work as almost everybody voted on the cars and even the people as well. The longest continuous Opel Ownership award went to someone with 44 continuous years. The longest distance traveled was actually someone who flew in from Mexico City.

There was plenty of food to go around for everyone all day and night through the whole event. Everything was free and everyone had such a great time.

There was stiff competition in the Best of Show while other people swept entire categories such as Best of Show Modified, the black Manta. And even a beautiful yellow GT showed up late but turned the tide of the Best of Show award. That yellow GT won the Piston Trophy.

The Peoples Choice award was another tough one and after re-counting the votes it went to gorgeous blue GT.

There should probably be an award next year for the cars who drive in from out of state and make that a longest distance traveled as this year we had cars from Nevada, Arizona and even South Carolina. There should probably be a first, second and third in this category as people obviously spent a lot of time and effort to get their cars to the Festival.

We definitely heard good reviews of the Red Lion Hotel that guests stayed at and it lived up to all expectations. Definitely a good spot for next year as well.

There were some ten categories of awards trophies and give-a-ways as well as 10 more free give-a-ways as well. It seemed like almost everyone came away with something.

For sure a good time, at least. The Hillbilly Dyno Mark2 was a great success entertaining guests throughout the Festival. Mike ran the display well and no one was hurt throughout the day. One thing for sure, OU's high volume oil pump was a great success. Showing on the big gauge. Running, trimming and editing the oil pressure from a clean 47 to 50 pounds.

Everyone loved Opels Unlimited's 86 new products available for the first time this year. There is nothing like seeing and touching everything for real first hand. All the new bigger better higher quality, cheaper priced items were really appreciated and not just at this show but the East Coast show as well.

Tell you what folks, we are getting hit with some pretty big bills to pull all of this off for you this Summer. With another show in the future still left to go we need to regroup and sell some cars this year in order to keep going strong. Soon you will see some of our Opel collection out there on CraigsList as well as very soon, eBay as well. We are cleaning them up and collecting titles and getting them ready as we speak. Hopefully you all need a good price on a new toy and Summer project.

We did in fact collect a lot of really nice Barn find saves with really good results on condition and pricing.

We will reach the 96 new products offered for 2015 by our next Sales Flyer and like we have told you all before, we are the company to watch in 2015. Remember our new motto
    "Better Research
    Better Products
    Better Prices"
and always remember our last motto, "We have it all in stock and will beat anybody's price on anything." And there is the one given to us by the OEC - Opels Unlimited, "Keeping Your Dreams Alive."

We hope you all had good Father's Day weekend. Take Care and Happy Opeling,
Todd, Debbie and Tammy and the rest of the Opels Unlimited Group.

Weekly Wrap Up Monday July 6, 2015

Weekly Wrap Up Monday July 6, 2015

Hey Folks we are sorry we missed last weekend but for once the entire Opels Unlimited Crew took off Saturday and did a double shift on Friday instead. It seems like forever since we all had a day off and finally taking this day was well worth it.

Right there on the Lake people lighting off $3,000 worth of Fireworks in one night. Live bands playing and lots of great entertainment throughout a long night. It was really nice to see some great friends and fellow Opel nuts in a completely non-work setting.

Speaking of pictures, we know that we still owe you the tail end of the International Picnic and Festival pictures. The After Party and atmosphere, also our good friend Woody, our KJ/DJ has some great pictures to share soon.

Well as much fun as all the Sales and Festivals have been, we have to get back to business. Many new parts arrived recently from our research and our productions. Things are looking good here and a new sale is definitely due for everyone. What shall we call it? Perhaps a big sale that goes public featuring a big chunk of our new finds and productions, exclusively sold by Opels Unlimited and on sale yet. Yes, that is a place to start.

Also we are thinking about a body parts and sheet metal sale as well. How about sending private messages about what you would like to see on Sale. It hasn't even been started yet so your input would be very valuable.

We have had a really good fun run all year long on our 96 new products promised for 2015. We said we were the company to watch and we meant it. We are going to pass that number before the year is over.

It's really nice being your one stop Opel shop. All year long it has been the best year ever.

Weekly Wrap Up Monday July 13, 2015

Hey Folks here are a couple of pictures around the working area of the museum, showing off a few parts and cars. We promise on our next post shiny parts and specialty parts on display in the front of the museum. We'll show off everything from fibre glass custom hoods to belly pans, custom wheels and rims, battery trays to fuse boxes to even five speeds. Custom brake systems, lots of Weber Carbs, custom and special intakes as well as exhaust systems. From side drafts to custom trick heads to even all kinds of key chains, watches, special trinkets from Germany Models, even new rechrome parts and productions.

Currently we are ramping up to our now 96 new products we are offering for 2015.

We are currently packing the suitcases for the WA show and we will be there soon with a great display with lots of parts on sale, like we always do.

We are definitely gearing up for another special sale on different items or even showing off our special made products this year.

You guys have been asking us to put some prices to some sale parts and get that information out there. Perhaps we will get to that this week and get the last two weeks of our current sale out to you. We keep thinking that you all know it what with our constant email updates and database, as well as the Opel Enthusiast Club original snail mail sales mailings. But even with so many different avenues out there, even Opel Enthusiast Club on Facebook, still not everyone sees all of our constant world famous Sales.

Even Fun Video 9 and Tech Video 13 are now available for free for the first time in DVD format.

Anyhow we hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July as well as enjoying kicking in your Summer. We see lots of activity from Opel owners out there. It's nice to see the Opel cars out there this year. This has been one of our best years ever.

Weekly Wrap Up Monday August 3 2015

Weekly Wrap Up Monday August 3, 2015

Hey Folks here we have another weekend wrap up. These pictures are from our last day in WA, we are heading out to the Airport and ofcourse Todd decides to cut up an entire back half of a car on the way. Two really good fenders, an excellent top panel and rear panel as well. Such a rare find these days. Definitely worth saving.

Ofcourse these beautiful panels are for sale as well. Finding and keeping good body metal has always been important to us. Speaking of body panels that will be part of our newest sale. We are currently working on our newest sales flyer which will be a three-parter with some great new things.

First of all you have all been asking for pictures of some of our new products along with prices of course so we will make one sale section with pictures to show off our 86 new products we have come up this year. That will be the first part of the sale.

We are working hard on cleaning up and really organizing our newest museum site in Riverside, CA. So, another sale we are going to go for is the overstock, too much underfoot, another one of Todd's crazy sales. It's going to get really crazy with lots of engines, lights and lenses, ready to go rims and rim sets, brakes, aluminum, grills and trim, carbs, dash pads and electrical dashes, even over stocked body panels for all models as well as windshields.

So that leads us to the third part of our newest Sales Flyer which covers alot of body panels for all models, both new and used. We think that will make a great hot Summer sale that will last up to the Holidays for everyone. Some really great deals and yes you can get a lot of parts and just drop a deposit to save them and then we take payments too.

If you are not on our email or snailmail list, now would be a good time to contact us and so we can make that happen. Our phone is 562-690-1051 and email is opelsunlimited@excite.com

This Summer was one of our best ever and we loved all the shows. And we were very happy with the turn out and participation of our own International Opel Festival in June in Perris 2015.

We certainly enjoyed seeing everyone who came to Opel events throughout the year. Our next event will be the Opel OctoberFeast, which is a smaller version of the International Festival in June, followed by a Halloween Jungle Juice Party typically. This year Halloween falls on Saturday, October 31st. Those of you with evening plans can come to the daytime Picnic event. And ofcourse everyone who enjoys the nightime party and contest activities, we will be glad to host another one of Todd's famous Jungle Juice Parties, over 20 years and running. Ofcourse this event is free. We look forward to seeing everyone there. RSVP when you can.

Weekly Wrap Up August 9, 2015

Weekly Wrap Up August 9, 2015

The highlight of our week was our trip to the Pomona Antique Auto Swap Meet on Sunday. We took a car to sell and had several of our business cards taken. We saw tons of great cars and our favorite was the famous "Tow Mater" Tow Truck from the movie CARS. Enjoy the pictures.

After the Swap Meet we went out to our Rialto Warehouse and rounded up a bunch of parts we needed for current projects. It was a valuable visit.

We also had a big push for shipping this week and got several packages out to our loyal customers.

This next week we will be working on a customer restoration. The car is very near being ready for a bright and shiny new paint job. This was one of our AS IS cars purchased from our collection and has come so far in just five months.

Weekly Update Sunday August 16, 2015

Weekly Update Sunday August 16, 2015

The highlight of Opels Unlimited's week was a visit from a German News Crew gathering info and video footage for Cable One, the German Television Station, and for Backseat Magazine, a German Automotive Magazine.

It was a blast touring them around the Museum and then going outside and picking a car to make run for their video. We told them all the stories about the cars in the museum. It was great to share all the history of the cars that Todd owns.

Once outside we focused on a customer car that is being renovated and gave them the footage they needed for their stories. They had all three of us, Todd, Tammy and Debbie, acting and giving them the stories they needed for both the television show and the magazine article.

They spent several hours with us and left promising copies of the magazine article and the television show. The show is scheduled to air in November and the article should be published around that time. Everybody exchanged names and email addresses and a great time was had by all. Enjoy the pictures.

On other avenues we caught up on shipping and another engine was pulled off the Hillbilly Dyno test station and shipped out to anther happy customer. This engine bright red with just a basic gasket refurbish, timing chain and tensioners for just $600. Purred like a kitten and the valves did not make any noise. Got the Oil Pressure just where we wanted it and sent it on it's way.

On other news, we do have some new products on the way to offer and add to our 96 new products offered for the year 2015. Currently we are on number 86 so starting with number 87 Kadett B Wing Window Rubbers, this is a special molded piece, also speaking of molded products we are going to offer the Manta A Lower Door Rubbers as well as Manta A Upper Side Window Channel Rubber, including Rubber for the Rear Quarter Pop Out Window.

Another new product is a real serious fix for all Kadett, 1900 and Ascona owners for the Rear Side Pop Out Windows. With a double sided metal hinge and even new hinge Rubber, there is no fears for having your Side Vent Windows open all the time. No more coming upglued problems. Now your windows are stable and will work on your car everyday. No more factory flaws.

More than that, also, the perfect Opel GT Seat Covers. All original material and the best workmanship ever. Just as good as our new and improved Carpet Kits and Dash Covers. New Euro front and rear kick panels for GT as well.

Many more new products on the way. Some more sporty suspension mod stuff. New killer Piston and Gasket set. Even new center mufflers and more body repair panels as well.

Such a fun year we've had, it's just been the best ever. We have enjoyed so much dropping the prices on all Opel parts so significantly that we are still 30 to 70% lower even as our current sale is ending and our new sale is being created. Definitely living up to our new Motto:
    Better Research
    Better Products
    Better Prices

Weekly Update Sunday August 23, 2015

Weekly Update Sunday August 23, 2015

This week was really great. We had a real focus on making sure we got everybody's packages out, we had so many orders.

Also, this week we received a much anticipated package from one of our top suppliers in Germany. Enjoy the pictures.

There are about 10 new products for our customers.

These new products will be a part of our three part sale. We are in the process of selecting the products that will be available through to January.

We also worked on our current customer restoration and visited the paint shop on their behalf. Their car is getting near to paint and the customers are thrilled.

Also talked to a long time customer about an engine he has on order. On tap this week is finding a good engine for this project.

Our current head project is moving along and we sent the Cam out to be created. It will be drop shipped directly from Isky to the customer.

Lots more goodies. We just got a request to name and show our new products with our new sales prices while everything lasts. So with hitting our goal of finally 96 new products to offer, for the year 2015, we will start naming off some of our best sellers and actually naming off the inventory we have in stock to advertise and sell in a bulk sale.

As one of our many new goals is to keep everything in stock at all times, we hope eventually to be able to show you every one of our 96 new products.

We are proud to announce at this time that we are very proud to be offering every Opel product for sale around the world, a newer higher quality of standard that will stay available all the year round. We will do our best to keep everything in stock with the next year coming in 2016 to be even better.

Weekly Wrap Up Monday August 31, 2015

Weekly Wrap Up Monday August 31, 2015

Hey Folks here is another Weekly Wrap Up. Guess what we just got back in stock. If you don't know this part by heart, this is your Opel GT and Kadett Rack and Pinion Boot. Nice thick rugged construction. Much better than original and competitor products. These really hold their shape as you can see.

Sooooo this tops off the last thing we needed for the next biggest great Sale on all new Parts. So as we come to the end of the year we realize, as promised, we did add some 96 new products to our inventory.

In fact, we have been on such a roll this year that we not only made this special hard to achieve goal, but passed it right up and are on our way to having even 107+ new products to add this year. Some you have all seen before, they are just coming from different places now and are of a better quality and cheaper price. Many others are brand new specialty products that no one has seen before.

We are not claiming we have made and manufactured each and every part ourselves, many parts are coming from all around the world. So many companies and businesses are our partners now as well as now being a direct EMPI Warehouse distributor.

The SEMA convention last year gave us so many new directions and companies to manufacture our parts with. One thing is for sure, it's been almost a year since we have bought even one thing from our US Competitor. So you can be sure you are getting the greatest price and selection offered throughout the world.

Now we have hundreds and hundreds of parts available exclusively from Opels Unlimited that no other US Competitor has to offer. Truly a stellar year for Opels Unlimited, in fact it has been one of the best years ever. Like we have said all year, we are the company to watch in 2015 and we have delivered big time.

The shop and museum is doing great. Not much to report this week anything different. We will go ahead and wrap up this Weekly Wrap Up right now and the very next thing you will see from us is pages and pages of our New Parts Sale. Real Opel Enthusiast Club members will get many more pages than you all see in our current Internet Sales Flyer.

It is going to take days if not weeks to get it out there but we do plan on giving you a good look, complete with pictures, parts and prices, just like you have all requested from us as at all the meets throughout the year.

Dear OU. You state that you have added 96 new parts, then you state that you have added 107+ new parts. I asked once before, but no reply. Do you have a list of the new parts you have added to your inventory? I for one would like to see a list of the parts you have added to your inventory so I have a better idea of who I buy something I need from a supplier. Please, nothing about how hard you worked (we all work hard). I don't want to know anything about the hillbilly dyno. Please just give me a list of the new items you have added this year. All 107+ would be nice.

    Thank you very much

Adolf, I am not sure if you are being serious or not. My sense is that your are not. Maybe there is a total of 60 parts, but certainly not 60 different parts, let alone 96 parts. I guess the word new can mean new to Opels Unlimited, but certainly not new to the Opel community. I was hoping to see something new to me as I am always looking for new parts to replace older not so modern parts. Oh well, I will keep looking maybe some day I can get a list and see if there is anything I want or need.

Thanks, almost suffocated waiting for an answer from OU. Guess that was asking too much.

Weekly Wrap Up Saturday September 5, 2015

Weekly Wrap Up Saturday September 5, 2015

Hey Folks here is one of the best things we could have done for our company, all wrapped up in one colorful nut shell. You see, int he past, all these years there was this famous thing called "the three Germany boxes", knick named this all through the 80's and 90's and beyond. This is where all the little itty bitty trinket stuff ended up. Everything from hood squirters to flood plugs, underhood rubber bumpers to little plastic deals, clips, bulbs, lamp gaskets, shift knobs, radiator caps, any and all unique items.

This system worked very well for us. Even as we found occasional NOS Original Opel goodies, all these parts would hit these famous three boxes. Well now that everything has changed and we are buying up all of the worlds inventory of these parts that we can, alot of things have to change.

We noticed just yesterday that it took us and hour and a half, almost 2 hours just to fish out these little items for so many customers now aware that we have every little item. To do this everyday continuously is not longer time or cost effective for us.

Three big boxes. What an old tradition and time to end it, some 32 years later. Here's our big new solution - Harbor Freight's automotive bin boxes, once a novelty, has now become a necessity for Opels Unlimited. We are currently underway building four of these to currently organize inventory and price some 200 new items. These will be located on the first floor showrooms/walk-in waiting area for all the customers to personally oh and ah and touch every item themselves.

A real crash course in what is really available currently, worldwide, in all new parts only. This will be built over the next couple of weeks and as the bins fill up, the Sales and prices will be put out there for everyone to see.

It was definitely time to give as we have purchased so many parts from so many different companies, or even had the parts built for ourselves. Now it is all piling up under our feet as we unpack all of our suitcases and displays that we have been carrying around from State to State all year.

This is just the tip of the iceberg as we have to properly organize and store tens of thousands of dollars of new parts added to our inventory this year.

Another note for the first timers, there is a car wash next door to the hotel.
