Special Announcement for International Opel Festival & Picnic Wedns. April 12, 2017

Special Announcement for International Opel Festival and Picnic Wednesday April 12, 2017

In a matter of mere weeks we here at Opels Unlimited will be hosting the annual Opel Festival and Picnic on Saturday June 24, 2017.

The event is being held in Perris California at the Mayor's Manor where we live.

With it's park-like scenery and tons of parking space this venue is perfect for this kind of gathering.

We plan on starting around 12 noon and we will be together until about 6 pm. With a BBQ and catered food we will feed everyone well that day.

Games and activities and a DJ and music for the day are planned. We will also have our famous Sales Display. In addition, the Hillbilly Dyno will be hooked up and running for the entire day.

Bring your Opel, drive it, Trailer it, leave it at home and bring pictures and stories. The benchracing for the day should be plentiful.

Make your plans early and RSVP to 562-690-1051 so we know how much food to have on hand.

It is going to be an amazing day. The previous Festivals have been exceptional days full of fun, laughter, food and true Opel comaraderie. We look forward to welcoming you all.

    Buy-Out Secret Revealed Saturday April 15, 2017

    Buy-Out Secret Revealed Saturday April 15, 2017

After another week of integrating new inventory Todd felt we were finally at the stage to reveal the Buy-Out Secret. Opels Unlimited has purchased the Name, mailing list and 20 year inventory of USA Opel and Opels Forever. There you go. Did you guess it right?

This is a deal long time in coming and is very advantageous for Opels Unlimited. The infusion of inventory alone was worth the purchase price.

We will be working on getting the new inventory to our Riverside Museum for several weeks. We are very excited to have it and this certainly further solidfies that we are Opels Unlimited and that we can find anything you need for your Opel!

We pride ourselves on being Your One Stop Opel Shop and with the Buy-outs that we have done over the past 34 years we now have over 280 years of peoples Opel collections.

No news on the medical front with Todd. We are waiting to hear from the specialist on the 25th. We are hoping they have ideas about how to combat this current 1/4" Kidney Stone.

In addition to our activity with the new company we are full steam ahead with the International Opel Festival and Picnic on Saturday June 24, 2017. If you are planning on coming please pick up the phone and RSVP so we know how much catered food to plan on. 562-690-1051. Ask for Todd, Debbie or Tammy. We are the dream team for this event.

Opel Company Move Finished - All New Pictures - 4/23/17

Opel Company Move Finished - All New Pictures - 4/23/17

Our focus this message is all of our close up pictures of the indoor stored parts from the Company Buy-Out of USA OPEL/Opels Forever. Here it is in our Ballroom at the house. You all know how big that is. Literally thousands of parts covering the entire floor.

Check out the pictures and see if there is anything you want. Todd will make great package deals. He is in the mood!

We are going to go through all this indoor stored stuff over the next few weeks.

More pictures coming and a big used parts sale will be set up over the next few weeks as well.

    So stay tuned.

More good news on the International Opel Festival and Picnic front. We are receiving RSVP's from out-of-staters already. You may not know but we have a Hotel just a matter of minutes from the grounds of the Festival with really nice rooms. The Red Lion Inn at 855-347-0877.

We've done our rounds to tell everybody and confirm the date of the event Saturday June 24, 2017, including talking to the editor of The Blitz.

Also, speaking of magazines that Opels are featured in - remember we had a Photojournalist sent to us to do a story for Markt, Europes equivalent of Hemmings Motor News. The story should hit the newsstand October or November. We will keep you posted.

Last word on Todd's Kidney Stones. Next week we will find out what they are made of, and what the treatment options are for the 1/4" stone left on his other side.

On the Washington front we have a few more people showing up there in July, on the 22nd, and we are happy to help with the event. Contact us if you would like any additional information. We can put you in touch with the people coordinating that Show up in Snohomish this year.

Great News. Lots of parts arrived from German companies this week. Basically all the catch up and re-inventory stock to get ready for Spring and Summer Shows. We got lots of new parts from many companies. We have enough restock to even do a couple of small special new parts Sales which we will start next week.

The last subject is one thing for sure even with the medical conditions and Company Buy-outs we will be producing the International Opel Festival and Picnic Saturday June 24th because there is no travel involved.

So if you want to see us and our famous Sales Display the Festival is the best bet this year as it a guarantee that the Festival will be held on June 24, 2017. Call 562-690-1051 to RSVP. Ask for Todd, Debbie or Tammy. We hope you all have a great week.

We added more RSVPs to our list and worked on gathering parts for our famous Sales Display for the Festival. Be sure and RSVP so we know how much catered food to plan for.

Todd continues with an X-Ray and Lab Test tomorrow. All necessary so we can figure out how to deal with the Kidney Stone he has left.

Preparation for International Opel Festival and Picnic 5/8/17

Preparation for International Opel Festival and Picnic 5/8/17

This week was focused on preparing the grounds here in Perris for our International Opel Festival and Picnic on June 24, 2017.

One major project was to install a redwood fence along the fenceline of the Cars for Sale Section and our neighbor. This created the need to find, transport and erect about 100 feet of Redwood.

Two dauntless workers and perfect weather allowed for a record time completion. The fence looks great and now Todd is figuring out what Road Signs and License Plates to affix for a Photo Op for the Festival.

The second activity that took priority this week was to launch the 9th car we have sold in the past 3 months. This Manta was transported up to Washington and then will be picked up at the Canadian Border by it's new owner and taken into Vancouver.

The Car Sales Season this year has definitely started early. We are delighted and very busy selling and prepping the cars for transport. Happy to report several Father Son projects and one of the Manta's was going to be restored for a Father-in-Law's 70th birthday. Isn't that cool?

If you are ready for your dream car give Todd at call at 562-690-1051 and let him dazzle you with our Cars for Sale Inventory.

OK - added a couple more people to our Festival RSVP List and encourage anyone who thinks they are going to attend to call so we can plan for our catered food.

No new news on Todd's Kidney Stone front. At least his body has not tried to pass the 1/4 inch stone which rests in his left Kidney.

Hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day.

Weekly Update Monday May 15, 2017

Weekly Update Monday May 15, 2017

This week we worked on our primary restoration project. It was great to give them a progress report. We will be working on it again this week. More pictures of that big project will be coming soon and most probably will make it's own Wrap Up in the future.

Carlisle is this weekend so we are gathering some things to be taken to the Show and be auctioned away over the weekend. It is our way of being with you all. Todd and Tammy are really going to miss being there. Remember us at the Bench Racing events.

This week one more of our cars that we have sold was picked up and transported to Washington where it was going to be picked up and taken into Vancouver Canada. This car was purchased so that it could be restored and gifted to the buyers Father-in-Law for his 70th birthday. Cool, huh? These are the stories we hear every week. We love being a part of this community.

This week we have also nearly finished the prep work on a Manta going out to Virginia. This little car really wants to run. It positively purrs like a kitten. It is one of the last remaining cars from the Northern California buy-out that you all heard about last year. Original Signal Gree paint. Another easy restoration Sunny California car leaving to Virginia soon with original paint from 1974.

This is why we have sold 9 cars recently and watched them being shipped all over the country. We are just wrapping things up and then the car can be transported by our favorite transport guy. We just realized he has moved from between 60-70 cars for us with great success.

The last original blue paint Manta and the last original rootbeer brown Ascona Wagon both sold for under $1,000 to make the dreams of yet two more people come true. We love these stories.

We continued to work on the grounds of the Manor here for our International Opel Fesitval and Picnic June 24, 2017. We have two terrific workers and they take their work very personally. We are so blessed to have them on our team.

We are reaching out to our local customers and inviting them to the Festival. As a reminder, if you think you will be attending, please RSVP so we know how to plan for the catered food. Call 562-690-1051 and ask for Todd or Debbie.

No new news for Todd and his Kidney Stone. Several people have contacted us with remidies and we appreciate all the well-wishers.

Pictured are the bins that we keep our small items for Sale in. We have already inventoried larger items for the Special Sales Display for the Festival, mostly complete interior and major body and window rubber so far and next we will go through these bins and decide what we will put on sale for that day from our most common sellers.

We look forward to everyone experiencing our Sales Display and everything we have planned for that fun day. Remember Saturday June 24, 2017.

    Todd Shared This:
    May 19, 2016 ·
Carlisle Import Show Display May 20-22, 2016

After shipping a 250 pound pallet across country to the Carlisle Fairgrounds and carrying another 150 pounds of merchandise in their suitcases, Todd and Tammy were ready to create something very special. And create they did.

As you can see from the pictures their Display space is chock full of goodies from all over the world. Opels Unlimited had been receiving big packages from Europe for weeks to prepare for the Display for this show.

Todd and Tammy arrived in Carlisle a day early and spent the entire day working on what will go down in history as the largest Sales Display ever produced. Not only did Todd bring the standard assortment of parts he also brought several of his new offerings and big specials like the Interior Sale.

This dynamic duo is expecting to be busy all three days of the show and are confident they brought enough for everyone who will be in attendance.

Be sure and come and say hello to them this weekend and check out the fruit of their labor. An amazing amount of work went into preparing this for you all so come and enjoy it!

    Weekly Update May 28, 2017

Weekly Update Sunday May 28, 2017

Happy Memorial Day Weekend to All!

Worked every day on the International Opel Festival and Picnic June 24, 2017 here in Perris, CA. 20610 Eureka Street, Perris, CA 92571.

This week we moved cars to begin to create the Cars for Sale section. The guys are getting ready to do a full wash and prep on each car. We are also talking to people who are coming to the Festival with their own Cars for Sale. It should be a very interesting event.

We talked to one of our favorite customers from Texas tonight and he and his wife are planning and taking two weeks off and making us the highlight of their vacation. They are going to spend a few days with us. We are really looking forward to seeing them.

Another one of our favorite people who always comes out from Arizona has let us know that a friend of his from San Francisco is planning on bringing his entire family to our event. We were thrilled to hear that news.

Another part of our week included finishing up a customer's Manta and getting it back into his hands. He and his son we very happy. Todd turned that around in just a couple of days.

We were also visited by four German Buyers who came to the Museum and then made a special trip out to our Manor in Perris. They ended up buying a car from each location. Very good news. So now we have two more cars to prep for departure. Our car sales have been have been great this year. Be sure and call us if you have the hankering for a Summer project. 909-355-OPEL(6735).

OK now back to the International Opel Festival and Picnic. Each day we have a punch list of Have To Do's. We are at under 30 days to be ready. Yikes seeing it in writing makes it very real.

Tammy has been working on the Awards for the past few days and picked up the glass frames this afternoon for the Awards Ceremony. She is doing a terrific job.

Oh yes, Todd is still the unhappy keeper of a 1/4 inch Kidney Stone. No news and no natural conclusion either. We appreciate all the Well Wishes.

On another front we have had quite a few specialty Dealer Buy-Outs lately with some really great parts. Now for the first time ever, aside from our famous all new parts Sales Display we will also have a special section which will include alot of great looking shiny used parts for sale as well.

For the first time in history, they will go fast on a first come first served basis. All the more reason to get here early when the Festival starts, at 12 noon this year. It promises to be a really great Sales Display. We look forward to seeing everyone there. Please RSVP!

This next week we are bringing in one of our shows famous GT's for a little work before the Festival.

Work continues on the grounds of the Manor to having everything beautiful for our big day. We are so blessed to have two dedicated workers who have been with us every step of the way this year.

Todd continues to struggle with his Kidney Stones. He is making very conscious decisions about his diet to make sure he doesn't create any more of the little buggars.

Mid-Week New Parts Arrival Update Thursday June 8, 2017

Mid-Week New Parts Arrival Update Thursday June 8, 2017

Great News! We received a huge shipment from Germany today and now we are in position to offer a New Parts Sale. The shipment was so heavy we had to open it on the spot and bring parts in separately.

We know it is all about the International Opel Festival and Picnic at this time but we also know you guys are missing one of our crazy sales and most likely didn't expect to see a new sale at this time.

So here we go- so many new parts coming in, everything restocking. This time of year it is always about Opels Unlimited giving back to the community. That is what the whole International Opel Festival and Picnic is all about.

With more RSVP' s coming in every day we realize the attendance is going to be great. But we also realize that all of you cannot make it Saturday June 24th for the Festival. So how about this, a new Special Sale for all of you bench racers sitting it out at home.

It's taking us weeks to create the Special Sales prices and Orange Stickers on every item. We plan on having more that 100 different items tagged with significant savings and discounts priced as low as we can go.

Most probably this year this will be the only location for our famous Sales Display. It is possible that we will not be doing any Airplane travel this year with Todd's health issues. So again we encourage you to come to the Opel Festival on Saturday June 24th.

Meanwhile we will be sharing some of these Special Sales and crazy prices with you folks at home starting now.

We can't list everything that will be on the display but we certainly can give the prices on some parts that are hard to get here in the US. We don't mind shipping, that's what we do every day.

Weekly Update Sunday June 11, 2017

Weekly Update Sunday June 11, 2017

Less than two weeks until the International Opel Festival and Picnic on Saturday June 24, 2017 and that's all anybody can talk about around here. Todd is starting to panic because we have to take days like Father's Day off from prep and he is convinced we need every last day. We are trying to soothe him and keep him focused. We start our days chanting for no Kidney Stones and end them taking tally of everything we accomplished for the day.

We have come to a decision about Tammy's famous Sales Display. Traditionally the Display is New parts. Well this year we are going to include a Good/Used section and a Grab Box of everything inside for $20. We think this will really make a difference this year and if it goes well we will include it every year.

Busy week with walk-ins and shipping. The phones have been kind of slow, allowing us to catch up on everything that needs to be done in addition to what needs to happen for the Festival.

Spent a good deal of time integrating parts from the USA Opel buy-out. This gives us a tremendous amount of organization in our bin room. Also, this makes pulling parts for our Display a breeze. The buy-out was definitely a win for Opels Unlimited.

Special treat for the Manor. A dear friend of the Opel Enthusiast Club, Laura Birdsell, offered to come in and steam clean the carpet in the main room of the Manor. You know the room, the one where everybody hangs out and everything ends up on the floor! She brought her teenage daughter and her daughter's boyfriend and between the three of them they took care of the carpet and the hall runner and the kitchen mess. What a blessing. Friends like this are worth their weight in Gold.

Tomorrow we will be working all day here at the Manor taking on the fence and the grounds getting ready for our Big Day. We have a whole slew of signs and license plates to hang on the new fence. The idea is to create a photo-op space near the Cars for Sale section of the Festival.

We had so much fun this week talking to customers in the area about attending the Festival. It was great to talk directly to people and several people agreed to come be with us. Lot's of 3 generations of families. One of our customers is one of our oldest customers, well into his 80's and he surprised us by saying he is going to drive his gorgeous GT out for the day.

We have over 60 people confirmed. Remember, if you want to join us call 562-690-1051 so we have a good count for the catered food. We can give you all the details you need for that day.

OK, wish us luck as we charge forward this week. We are doing this to give back to all of you!

    Mid-Week Update Wednesday June 14, 2017

    Mid-Week Update Wednesday June 14, 2017

Hello All! Counting Down with ten days to go before the International Opel Festival and Picnic Saturday June 24, 2017. Our days are consumed with preparations for the Festival.

Today we focused around the Manor. You would think the outside would come to a completion but every day we find more to do.

The next project is to get the Road Signs and License Plates from many different State on the big new fence in the Cars for Sale section of the Festival. Today they got a thorough wash and they are ready to be hung. The idea is to create a Photo-Op so everybody will have a place to have their picture taken.

Yesterday one of our most important supporters, Donna Sion-Snyder, owner of a gorgeous blue Opel GT, brought over the baskets for a Raffle. She has put her heart and soul into these theme baskets and it will surely create a great Raffle for everyone of all ages.

There will also be an Opels Unlimited Raffle for parts, T-Shirts and Gift Certificates. These two Raffles are sure to be highlights of the day.

Some fun news, we have decided to add 10 pounds of marinated chicken to the buffet menu this year. This is the most incredible tasting chicken and with tortillas, it will make for a wonderful additional to the other dishes being shared that day. We will cooking throughout the whole day starting at 12 noon.

Today the front and back porches got power washed and they are 100% for the big day.

Todd and I were in the Pool today and it will be perfect for the Festival for anyone who wants to partake that day. It's a great Pool and everyone is welcome. All new filter system installed just in time. It is finally warm enough for the Summer.

Lot's more going on here at the Manor, all of us busy little Opel-bees. It is going to take right down to the last day, but we will get it all done.

Hope you all are enjoying our newest Sale. We have gotten a lot of calls from people about these great deals. Best advice is get them while you can.

Hope every has a wonderful Happy Father's Day on Sunday. Happy Opeling.

Special Update SIGNS SIGNS EVERYWHERE SIGNS Thursday June 15, 2017

Special Update SIGNS SIGNS EVERYWHERE SIGNS Thursday June 15, 2017

Today was a big day around the Manor. As you can see by the pictures, Eric put up all the Road Signs and License Plates on the New fence. This fence surrounds our Cars for Sale Section and these decorations really set the scene.

The idea was to create a place where people could get their pictures taken during the Festival. Each of our winners will have their picture taken with their award so that they can put the picture on their award.

Now for a special request - we still have an awful lot to do and are putting out the S.O.S. to anyone that would like to come and help us in the final days of prep next week. Every afternoon and evening we will be working between here and the Museum on the finishing touches.

If you would like to help give us a call and we'll schedule you right in. 562-690-1051.

That's it. We just wanted you to see our Magical fence and put the word out about helping us. Have a great rest of your week.

Weekly Update Sunday June 18, 2017

Weekly Update Sunday June 18, 2017

Hello and Happy Father's Day to all. We hope you had a great weekend.

Major accomplishment this week was ordering all the catered food for the International Opel Festival and Picnic Saturday June 24th. We have a superb Mexican restaurant in town and they are known for their wonderful food. We have a tray of Rice and Tortillas and Pico de
Gallo and another tray of Carnitas and a final tray of Chili Verde. Plenty of food for everyone. We are very proud to offer this to our guests.

In addition to the Mexican Restaurant spread we will have marinated chicken, hot dogs, sausages, mac n cheese and beans. We will also have drinks and chips. We are asking everyone to bring salads and sweets. We anticipate a really nice variety for all.

Next, we have been watching the weather very carefully and it looks like it is going to be a hot one. Dress for a very warm day. We have done alot to create shade for the show. We have 5 tents, 5 big table umbrellas, 3 huge shade trees and most importantly we have brought over the Portocool 5000 cooler from the Museum. It has a huge fan and swamp cooler and a 55 gallon barrel of water that constantly circulates water over the 6 foot square surface of the fan.

This Portocool is a Monster. It's a $4,000 machine and will definitely cool everyone at the event. You should have seen the guys loading this thing onto our trailer. We drove it home with the greatest of care. We are excited to have it here.

There is actually another feature and that is our huge pool. It is not heated but is warm enough to walk right in this time of year. The kids should enjoy the heck out of it. They do every year. Everyone is welcome to bring their suits.

The RSVP list continues to grow and we are up to 75 guests. People are coming from all over the country and several people have placed orders for things to be picked up at the Festival. We have no problem doing this, we just add this to our list of things to do.

We have collected another Van full of items to be priced out for our famous Sales Display. This year there will be both New and Good Used parts. Bring your pennies don't miss the deals.
