Week End Wrap Up Two Weeks before the Opel OctoberFeast 10/25/14

Opels Unlimited's week end wrap up two weeks before the Opel OctoberFeast which starts at noon on Saturday, October 25th. The bottoms of our feet are hurting as we wrap up another big week. Sorry we haven't done these wrap ups regularly but we have been busy with parts sales, and even big pallets to go out. Some of the largest orders in history. Perhaps it's our great consistent Sales Flyers, or perhaps it is all the buzz about all the new parts we are manufacturing and adding to our inventory.

In the last one month alone Opels Unlimited has added over a dozen companies to it's inventory possibility list and we already have over 50 new products to offer for the Opel 1900 and Opel GT. Our newest 8 page Sale Flyer is to die for, so many unbelievable deals. We are currently manufacturing all the exhaust for the Opel GT also all the rubber, all of the gaskets, all of the brakes and underbody rubber. This will be one of the best combination sales ever, showing clearly, at a glance, Opels Unlimited is literally going to save you a couple hundred dollars on each section, on each order.

Currently we are running a 40 to 80% off sale on all parts that fit an Opel GT. Anything reproduction, easily manufactured, we are just grinning ear to ear as we see each new product unfold. In the end, just a few months from now, most parts that are made out of rubber will be commonly available to everyone and as this is only 5 to 10% of our total business, we are choosing not to make a profit on any of these items any longer, as in this modern day computer age almost any and every part for anything is so commonly easily reproducable.

We have $142,000 to work with to machine and manufacture anything you Opel nuts desire. Ofcourse having the depth and experience of 31 years, Opels Unlimited is targeting those hard to get, obviously overprice items that the public is currently being subjected to. It's best to get on the mailing list and receive all the Sales Flyers as they are coming out. As a massive bulk buying inventory is being stockpiled for you all over this next year. We will keep you updated immediately. Even emails, in some ways, cheaper and faster for us. We are getting volunteers from the Opel Enthusiast Club to help with emails, so send yours along, but don't forget to sign up for your real paper copy and a complete quarterly wrap up of all specials and sales. Plus snail mail still delivers our fun video DVD's, our Tech Video, as well as key chains, major updates and breakthroughs, even catalogs.

The OEC club membership is still going strong with so many current members, we all feel so loved here at Opels Unlimited. Making peoples day, getting all that unobtainium at a great price, we all love to feel all your warm thanks and we all so much enjoy what we do here. It's not a job, it's just fun, it always has been.

What are the chances of developing the defroster vents that are located in the dash? I have a pair that I bough years ago by someone that was reproducing them, then stopped. They were made from fiberglass and although somewhat bulkier than originals, the fit perfectly. I know that many GT's still have crumbly originals that are UV damaged and generally unusable. The suggestion I am making is to reproduce this part, I believe there is a market for this item and people that are trying to make a show quality GT absolutely need new ones.

    Bob,

We have never had to reproduce this item because Opels Unlimited has always had a good supply of good used parts. Besides, we are reproducing other items that are harder to find. If you need these vents contact us and we will get you taken care of. 909-355-OPEL(6735). Look forward to all of our new reproductions as there will be so many. Almost 50 added in the last 2 months alone.

Weekly Wrap Up December 27th, 2014

    Hey Folks,

It's been a while since we have posted a weekly wrap up here at Opels Unlimited. Quite frankly all the development of the new parts has really taxed our computer time as we are constantly following up on updates of all the new products we are developing. Currently we are up to 96 new offers and productions and everything is going quite well for us. Some great offers and new sales flyers coming. Meanwhile you still have eight and half pages of sales currently available out here, just go to the Forum page and scroll down to Opels Unlimited.

That Sale ends on January 1st and we are already developing a new one soon to be in print, just ask for your free copy.

Also, asking for everyone's email address to start sending updates that way has been a huge success. Everyone is enjoying the sales prices and cutting edge sales as soon as they come out.

Actually, we are going to start popping sales weekly within a month that only last for a week or two. Maybe some even days, this will make people really pay attention and you know Opels Unlimiteds crazy sales rotate the parts around and are really great and are now currently published all year long by the Opel Enthusiast Club. As much fun as we always have making the sales we are definitely going to have a lot more fun with our weekly pop up sales.

With all the new parts we are creating, especially ones never seen before, these sales will be great as the prices will be really cheap as we are buying in to each new product. We definitely plan on sharing that all with the customers.

Something like this - any clutch, any pressure plate or any water pump brand new, no core required for any Opel model just $48.95. Not possible right? Just give us a call and find out. 909-355-OPEL(6735). Only good for the next two weeks.

New developments off Todd's desk you will be seeing soon are killer torque tube side mounts and killer solid iron bottom motor and trans mounts. These parts are NOS German quality and are the best offered in America to date. Everything is in stock, just ask. We are really proud of these things and they blow away any American competitor's best product. You will all see soon enough, but you can have them now. The work has been done and they are in stock. We will even supply other companies, quantities don't matter on all these new solid heavy duty parts.

These are ofcourse recommended for anyone with high performance needs. Anything with a 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4 or anyone that wants an OEM quality looking bolt in part that's better than anything that came before and will last a lifetime in their car.

There's a lot more coming in the future as we march forward in creating new original steel body parts for the Opel Gt. Even the motor mount ear protector for the exhaust side always cracked broken or missing, we are making a heavy duty version of this as well. Looks just like the original. We have always been known for providing good rust free body panels and sheet metal, for 32 years, now in a rust free location. It stands to reason that, as the years progress, and the ability of rust free body panels dwindles, that Opels Unlimited recreates all of the Opel Gt/Manta/Ascona body panels, new as well. Our prototypes look beautiful already and we are sure we can do this too.

Another one of those awesome one of a kind, rust free, mint original, undamaged, rare early cars, is currently sitting in the museum. A 69 first year with all the qualifiers, even that super rare red interior, still intact. A top ten percent or even finer car at 10 grand firm, with everything working, running, driving. One of those incredible condition cars that Todd only finds after waiting years and years. Pictures have been taken and are available upon request. Low miles, completely stock, all original down to the radio. The only change is the Weber Carb and Chrome Air Cleaner. Car starts instantly. Rare automatic. Nice Maroon metallic paint. All emblems and chrome intact, rear strip as well. Even all window chrome and emblems. Just a really nice car. Worthy of being in the Opels Unlimted Museum. Don't be afraid to fire any questions at us. Serious inquiries. Cash Only. Prefer sale to old customer we already know. One of those rare gems. If this is on your Christmas shopping list, don't let it go by.

Meanwhile, Take Care and Happy Opeling.

P.S. There will be a New Years Eve Party at the Manor and some Opel folks will be attending. If so inclined give us a call and we will give you directions. The more the merrier.

Weekly Wrap Up Sunday January 11, 2015

Weekly Wrap Up Sunday January 11, 2015

Hey Folks, it has been quite a busy week here at Opels Unlimited. We have two engine projects we are working on. We put our used engine on a Hillbilly Dyno and it ran like a top. Our new engine got checked out and Mike our head mechanic worked on it all day and has it ready to go. Our other focus this week was getting caught up on shipping and we caught up, getting out over 40 items over the weekend, everything goes out on Monday.

More good news on our new product developments. The heavy duty iron bottom motor mounts are in. So are all the heavy duty transmission mounts and rear end torque tube mounts. 80% of our exhaust developments are done and a new sale is coming out featuring all of this as well as 8 pages of our new Rubber products development for all models. Our big bore new Master Cylinders as well as our new header design is being tested over the next couple of weeks and we will keep you posted. These are all better than anything offered here in the US. The same thing with our High Volume fully adjustable oil pump kits. A newer upgraded version, exclusively created by Opels Unlimited, at a real reasonable price.

Remember our new motto folks "Better Research, Better Products, Better Prices." Over 73 new products this year and 23 being made currently. Keep your eye on us, we are the company to watch for your Opel future.

We have been making updates and will have many more soon so keep checking the Forum page and scrolling down to Opels Unlimited. We have upcoming sales so keep checking with us on the Forum Page.

Weekly Wrap Up January 18, 2015

Hey Folks - highlight of the week was taking a little red Ascona Wagon out to the Pomona Anitque Auto Swap Meet for the weekend. When we got to our section there was already at GT on display. In fact since we have begun to take Opels out to this meet other people have begun to take their GTs out. We think we have started a trend. We will be back there March 1st. Again promoted the Opels at this International Event and passing out our Sales Flyers and current list of cars for sale.

Lots of progress was made with the latest big warehouse move from Rialto. Lots of good news for people - lots of freebies such as 1900 engines, transmissions and rear ends. Many other parts available also, just come by and help us for a few hours. We are giving away alot of freebies. The bigger and heavier it is the more motivated we are to give it away. Also really good deals on a lot of parts. This warehouse has a huge overstock of Opel parts and it is all getting moved over the few moves. So consider an extra special side sale here, don't be afraid to ask, any part, any model, as long as it is a used part. We will include pictures of this packed warehouse so you all get the idea. Anyone willing to help Opels Unlimited in this next big move please contact us at 562-690-1051.

Many new developments for parts are still going on. Three new pieces of rubber that are common sellers are being restocked, even now. Updated GT Underhood Rubber, Main Door Rubber and even our popular selling Quarter Window Rubber, all getting made up on big roles for us.

We are caught up on all shipping. Our latest high end rebuilt engine is hitting the Hillybilly Dyno next Saturday and our latest good used engine fresh steamed cleaned and even painted left on it's pallet on Friday also.

Weekly Wrap Up Sunday February 8, 2015

Weekly Wrap Up Sunday February 8, 2015. Hey Folks a really great week here at Opels Unlimited. First of all, so many new products came in in the last few weeks. A simple update would be....well....not so simple. We got in a new stock of original factory chromed mirror sets for Opel GT and Kadett owners....well for that matter early Manta and Ascona owners too, not to mention the Manta Rey fish emblem, factory German, not just an original chrome, but in black finish as well. Now with our great buying power the price has now dropped in half...not just this, a new batch of original German window rubber for the Manta/Ascona and 1900 owners, and Wagon as well.

As promised Nationwide at every event last Summer, not just the side window things but for the first time in the US, an original front and rear window rubber for Manta/Ascona and 1900, as well as Wagon owners that is a solid black, original equipment rubber, without the cut out and provision for the original chrome strip. A long time coming, many people have asked us for years, now in stock. A perfect reproduction, including an extra rubber lipped tab for the dash pad itself, another item worthy of Opels Unlimited's newest motto
    "Better Research
    Better Products
    Better Prices"

You have all asked for it for so long. Now it is created and in stock and well worthy of a great reputation. That is just one item from the newest 73 items that we are currently creating and importing. Well on our way to the 96 new items that we have currently promised to everyone this year.

Other awesome additions are the big Universal Master Cylinder replacement and a huge 24 millimeter bolt in configuration. Much better than any competitors before. The test driven prototype today far exceeded our greatest expectations. Heavy iron, big bore and larger pistons is just the beginning. In the end, the power brake booster is so much more effective, that it doesn't even vary the Rpms on the engine. A super high pedal with just one inch of travel is the greatest expectations we could have hoped for. We are so happy with this newest production. Again with the better superior products and the better prices as well.

This graduated as well to our newest Stage II and III front Sport Spring reproductions. Now updated 7 times in the last 32 years. Not only is our newest design far superior but ofcourse the price is also incredible, just $159 for the whole new assembly. Yes, it it is the same thing that US competitors advertises, even on sale, for twice the price. OU invented the Stage II Spring and will never be undersold on this product.

Heavy duty gas-charged shocks were also secured with lifetime guarantee for just $24.95 each, as well. Not just for the front end but for the rear end as well.

Our super duty iron bottom motor mounts and our newest production of torque tube side mounts, heavy duty, exclusively from Opels Unlimited, were also a complete and total success.

Other updates include heavy duty iron bottom lower ball joints. Cross drilled for cotter pins as well as lock nuts, no directional issues. The best production to date in the US just $24.95.

Another addition was complete new ATE Master Cylinder Rebuild Kits, deluxe version for all GTs and even Manta owners, just $15.99 per kit.

Another update for Kadett Owners, a complete new German ATE whole Master Cylinder for just $69.95. It's not just that, the biggest seller and one of the best upgrade products that we have made this month, the complete Opel GT factory body to door Rubber, THE softest, most flexible and strongest door rubber made to date. If you haven't heard this yet, you need to hear this now, just $14.95 a side. In just two weeks we have almost sold out a frest 250 foot roll of the best door rubber made for Opel GT owners.

Like we told you all before, we are the company to watch in the year 2015. Send us your email addresses and get signed up for OEC club snail mail, there has never been a better time.

There are so many more updates this week and as this post is getting too long, the fresh engine on the hillbilly dyno went very well, not to mention the OEC President's Evolution One car was started and test run flawlessly today and even had 200 lbs plus compression per cylinder. It had wicked response from the accelerator and actually sent a shock wave through Opels Unlimited's museum today. With the new upgraded Master Cylinder project being a success as well, we would have to say it has been a stellar week for Opels Unlimited.

Weekly Wrap Up Sunday February 15, 2015

Weekly Wrap Up Sunday February 15, 2015

Hey Folks here is another Valentines Day Week weekly wrap up. Everything going along really great here at the museum. Lot's of new developments. Our big bore best upgrade Master Cylinder Prototype was a complete success. Nice even braking, even on hard stops and dirt roads, using all of the original components on a daily driven GT. Great features such as very minimal pedal travel. In fact, so much so that the power brake booster works effortlessly now. So effortlessly that even the engine didn't change RPM when using the brakes any longer. That was the most impressive feature to us. And yes Folks, this is the largest big bore Master Cylinder made for the US to date exclusively from Opels Unlimited.

Next, our Stage II upgrade Front Spring development went off without a hitch as well. Tighter better more circular ends were great to see as technology moves us forward to bigger and better designs every half a dozen years or so. We have sold hundreds of these Springs and everybody always completely enjoys the upgrade. Now they are even higher quality and cost even less. Far less than any US competitor.

All of our new developments and upgrades are going very well. Another really big thing is all the new interior designs for the GT. Starting with the best carpet kit prototype yet. With so many new cars and parts purchased lately we have managed to find the best selection of super low miles carpet kit pieces which is giving us the best prototype to create original, almost NOS if you will, carpet kits made to date. For months we have been test fitting all of the best pieces in to a certain original car that we have been working with. The results are great and ofcourse the prices went way down as we are having these mass produced as well. This time we decided to do a basic Carpet Kit that will be really inexpensive, the lowest price offered to date for Opel owners. Full size deluxe Carpet Kits will be offered too which gives customers a real option for the first time.

This is just the beginning for Interior options. Our new upholstery shop, like our new paint shop, and even our old Spring shop are so close to the new museum site that lots of new options are unfolding for all of our customers, both the walk-ins and out of staters. We are really loving our progress and very soon you will all see even more great better products coming soon. Now everything from bushings to ball joints. Even more exhaust and engine components. There is truly nothing out of our reach now and we will keep you all posted on our next weekend wrap ups coming soon.

Back to work with a really busy day coming tomorrow. Another customer's engine doing really well on the hillybilly dyno as we do all the finishing touches and get it ready to ship this week. Finally another little break in between the time Opels Unlimited is building motors for people. It doesn't happen very often or for very long as people are always asking us to build up and test first their motors so they can just drop them in at home. Like we have said before, this is good for the customers, as well as our engine builders at OU.

By the way Folks, we have to say a big "You are Welcome" to all your "Thank Yous" on our newest biggest Rubber Sale as well as all the great responses from our 32nd Anniversary Sale. The number one seller for the last three weeks has been the big Main Door to Body Rubber Gasket that we have been blowing out for just $14.95. An unheard of 150% savings. Remember that picture of Todd holding that huge roll out in front of him? Well, that roll is empty now and even another will be on order, just to keep up with the demand. We did the same thing with the Pop-out Window Rubber for all the other Opels as well. Buying everything in large bulk direct from manufacturers has really allowed us to pass along the savings like never before.

    Remember our newest motto
    "Better Research
    Better Products
    Better Prices"

Weekly Wrap Up Sunday February 22, 2015

Weekly Wrap Up Sunday February 22, 2015

Hey Folks, here is another Weekly Wrap Up. First good news is that the new high volume oil pump covers came back from the machine shop today. We will be getting pictures out to you guys soon. The current motor on the hillbilly dyno just got one. And it was rocking a steady 50-55 pounds oil pressure, even after it warmed up. We just got a big new oil pressure gauge set. A really big gauge that measures two ways. It's purring like a kitten, nice and quiet now, ready to go out. The Stage III Cam all broken in. One of these days we will make a video like we used to do all the time.

Other new arrivals- soon to be pictured, just keep watching our updates. Now that we have made another new series of sporty handling Springs and Gas Shocks at a really good price. Now we have got some super duty stainless big shaft ball joints, an exclusive OU production, as well as some superior Upper and Lower Control Arm Bushings. Heat Vulcanized in to new inner and outer complete sleeves. Far superior to plastic bushings and they will not squeak. They used to be expensive and hard to find, but not any more. So it looks like our special Front End goodies are going to catch up to all of our new big brake developments and upgraded motor trans and rear end mounts as well. That's about every single part on the Opel GT Chassis, either being made by Opels Unlimited, or direct bulk imported from some of the best manufacturers from around the world.

How funny, just in the last six months we have managed to get so many new higher quality, bigger, stronger parts, so many new exclusives offered by OU for the US market. We are definitely living up to our new motto
    "Better Research
    Better Products
    Better Prices"

High Volume Oil Pump Covers - New Pictures

High Volume Oil Pump Covers - New Pictures
Hey Folks, as promised, here are pictures of our newest production Oil Pump Covers, now readily available and reversible so that they fit both types of gears and will run on any year 1900 or 2 liter motors etc. No more hunting down the rare early gears, now you can get a positive pressure oil pump cover for your later model engine(1971 and newer). This should be a reasonable cost fix for everyone's engines using a brand new part that will cost less than the used early oil pumps that we have sold so many times in the past.

The development of a new timing cover pressure spring is being done now. Which will provide a complete inexpensive kit for all of us.

Entire plate is much thicker and rugged than the originals ever were. Another good thing is that the original bolts from your old oil pump also work perfectly as well.

I can't remember what my Opel's oil pump looks like since it has been 8 years since I had a look, so many of these questions might be out of ignorance.

The Opel oil pumps are gearotor positive displacement pumps, right? Which means they work by having a sealed system without the help of any 'rubbery' materials and instead a very very close tolerance in machining. If that is the case, how will an unground extruded surface provide a close enough tolerance to prevent the pumps from leaking or wearing extremely quickly?

Also, I can't remember what material the Opel's OEM cover plates are made from. However, I bet the gears are steel. If the gears are steel, then having them run against an aluminum surface may cause a lot of wear, right? The oil pumps in the dirt bike engines I have been working with need to be replaced every 30 hours of use because of this type of material interface.

Its just a cast iron plate that is easily dressed with some wet and dry to get any scratches out and make sure its flat. It is the gears that are hard to get NOS

Im not so sure about all the prices of products they sell as I found that the rubber window parts were significantly cheaper from splendid parts even though unlimited said, or should I say boasted, it was having this great rubber sale with prices cheaper than everyone.

The oil pumps in the dirt bike engines I have been working with need to be replaced every 30 hours of use because of this type of material interface.
    excellent questions.
What material was used to make these covers?

When putting wear parts next to each other it's important to have dissimilar materials.

Original CIH engines use an aluminum pump cover, with steel pump gears.

CIH-based diesel engines used longer pump gears (higher volume pump), and a cast iron pump cover.

A lot of CIH engine builders use the cast iron diesel pump covers on gasoline engines.

mine must have been changed to cast iron by a PO, the engine came out of a early manta.

Neat! I am guessing the housings for CIH-based diesel oil pumps are longer than other CIH oil pumps to accommodate the longer gears? And the covers are both essentially flat with identical dimensions and design?

I presume the stock diesel timing covers are deeper.

There are companies that offer high volume pump kits for the gas engines. They use the diesel gears, diesel covers, and a spacer.

The diesel pump covers are definitely not flat. They have the regulator integrated like the later gas engine pump covers. But they're huge. And apparently have better oil pressure control (metal regulator parts, no plastic).

I have two of the high volume pump kits. I could get a picture tomorrow.
