Also I need to get the VIN verified and was told by local motor vehicles that usually there is another location on the car that has the VIN. Does anyone know of such a location, such as on the frame or engine?

Here is where the tag (with chassis #) on my 60 olympia caravan is. The owners manual says that "The chassis number is electrically engraved on the right side of the dash just above the battery"-"The model identification plate is located on the right side of the baffle plate and is readily accessible." and "The engine number is stamped on the right side of the crankcase" HTH

Thanks for the information. I will check out the locations for the id numbers.
Another question: Do you know where I can get the round parking light lenses mounted between the directional signals and the grille?

VIN location and tags
The VIN is typically gone. They used an engraving process that barely scratched the surface. A little rust or a new paintjob and it is gone. There is a Dutch dealer who reproduces the aluminum tags screwed to the body. I don't remember the name off-hand, but he has a website and also makes timing gears and pre-war parts. Questions? Please contact me through my website: marcusschaper.de - I rarely visit this forum. Marcus
