Unanswered: What do these alarm signs mean?
In my father's car (an opel corsa from 1992) these two signs were lit today. But since we have no manual, I don't know what they mean. Any ideas? Lamp 1: http://www.opelgt.com/forums/attachm...0&d=1213985486 Lamp 2: http://www.opelgt.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1213985486 |

The top one is a sign for "Choke". Does this car have a Carburetor or Fuel Injection? If it does have a Carburetor, is it manual or automatic? My John Deere lawn mower has the same symbol on the throttle and it is Carburetor fed.

Hey Petasis
The second symbol is generally used for a computer malfunction. To diagnosis you will need to either get the books for your Corsa and/or get an automotive technicians help. One who call pull the computer fault code for your aldl connector.

I was thinking, the first one could also be your throttle body if it is fuel injected. As mentioned above, a good mechanic or book should be able to give you definite answers.

Your frist light is for the ele. choke and you need to check for a blown fuse or a stuck choke relay, etc. and the other check eng. light is on because the choke is not working correctly and this will effect exhaust emissions. HTH

Finally, the problem was in the electronic computer of the car.
Initially, something called "λ" in the exhaust, and then all the exhaust (accelerator - activator - catalyst ? I don't know the exact word). But the problem persisted. Finally the car computer was changed, and the problem was resolved. I think it was overheating problem of the computer. |
