Just thinking out loud and remembering older cars, since it has a bench front seat, if you can't reach up under from behind, or from the front, try looking under the car for bolts in the general area of where the seat is. Bench seats had at least 2 tracks that they ran on, with the adjuster on one side, the driver's side.

Try PM'ing Pete Anastopoulos who has restored his 1959 Record and should
be able to help you. Here is his info: http://www.opelgt.com/forums/members/anastosmotors.html

My '59 is under cover on a trailer right now so I can't check that. But the front seat on my '51 Olympia came out real easy. Releasing the adjustment lever under the drivers seat released that side, pulling the seat toward you freed up the passenger side. A photo is here.

I am going to check it out this week end. The car is covered inside the garage. Give me sometime. It is freezing here.

That why I said to look under the car. The seat probably has studs that poke through the floor of the car and the nuts holding the seat are on the under side of the car.

Got it out! The seat is pedestal mounted and the nuts are tucked up under the seat. If you lay your head on the floor and look, you still can't see them. Just had to feel for them. 15mm socket gets them out.
