Hmmmm, so many usual suspects out of the way, or so they insist.

Could it be Alan and Vicki? Dieter, despite his denials? CHARLES? The ghost of Leni Riefenstahl?

After all, this is an old school Opel muscle car and nobody else has one.

I think I missed a deal, yet this could yet turn into a horror movie... MOOOOAWHAHAHAHAHA..........

Christine!....

Are you sure? I heard rumors in a German Opel forum that somebody was asking questions (in English!) whether there was a roof rack for a Commodore ever available...

Tried to lure him out

I sent the following note to the seller

If you are able, please let the buyer of the Opel Commodore know that there is an active group of Opel enthusiasts at OpelGT.com - The Classic Opel Community where his new acquisition is being discussed with interest. We'd love to have him if not already a member. Thanks.

Are you looking to get rid of a 4 door Kadett.?? What year and condition?

And a second point......someone just mentioned Opel seating capacity. I recollect not being too hampered by the actual number of seats available in these cars. With my first GT I used to run around with 6 of us in it from time to time. Of course that needs to be with folks you really like a lot.

How did you get 6 into one? I only managed 5 and it looked like someone threw a bunch of people in a blender and poured them in.

Check out the add in the classifieds, and pictures of the car at last years Opel Nationals in Charlotte or in my photo album.

Had this Commodore been a 2-door with a title I'd have paid triple what the final bid was for it. Too many issues with title paperwork in the past to want to get involved like that again.

Seating 6 in a GT

It was simply 3 in front and 3 in back. When I had just bought this "new thing" it seemed pretty entertaining at the time (however, each of us also occupied substantially less cubic yardage back then too).

Cool car, by the way. Any idea how many of these made it to the states? It has to be quite rare.

Someone on sight that went and looked at this car said that the seller does not have a title for it. This model was never imported into the US and it may be a real bag of worms to get a title for it, just so you know.

Dunno. It wouldn't be a big deal getting it titled and registerd in my state but
judging from it's appearance and age, I have the feeling it would be a real money pit. Any car I've seen with that many miles/condition and not restored already would be costly to bring back to a respectable state even if it were Amarican made and had good parts availability like my 1963 Thunderbird, about the same age and miles but far better starting condition
when aquired.

It would be a neat car to own and give light use if it was in excellent condition and needed little, but I doubt if that is the case. Jmo.

No doubt Mark. Like any old car, you can shovel just about as much $$$ as you like into it. I guess it depends on what you wanted in the end. It doesn't seem like this would take much to make it a decent driver. To me, the payoff would be having a pretty unique vehicle in the end. Not a bad looking car either. Definitely has an early Cougar vibe going. Couga-dor?
Cheers,
Ron in Indy

Ron, your right. Whoever gets it will have a unique ride for sure.
I doubt if any of us expect to get back what we put in our beloved Opels.

I'm seriously considering this car. I was kicking myself for letting it go first time around. Anyone remember how much it "sold" for on the last listing? Any advice would be much appreciated too.

Still up for grabs!!!

The 67 Commodore is still up for grabs for the next day or so.....cheap. I had been interested in it, but finally chickened out with fears of "gray market" car inspections, and the lack of a clear chain of ownership. It's dirt cheap right now.

If the paperwork situation made it impossible to ever get it back on the road, I suppose one could work toward making a Manta TE2800 replica?

Does anyone know the reserve price? I asked all the questions about the title on Ebay and I think it can be titled in NJ with the proper paperwork. I'm still interested in the car for the right price.

Edit: Looks like the reserve is $700 and the bidding is up to $610 right now.
