In December I bought a Rekord P II coupe on German Ebay. After many delays and false starts it finally arrived in Baltimore on April 29. It took several days to clear customs and I was finally able to pick it up on May 6, arriving home with it on the 7th. As with any time you buy a vehicle sight unseen, there will be some surprises. However, this time there were as many, if not more, pleasant surprises than unpleasant ones. The chrome is in surprisingly good condition. The upholstery appears to be original, as well as the front floor mats and trunk mat. It is missing the wheel rings, hub caps, chrome strips on the rocker panels and a strip on the inside of the driver's door. There are numerous bubbles in the paint, indicating rust damage. It starts fairly well, but I don't yet have it licensed and so have not taken it for a spin. Someone replaced the three-speed with a four-speed. A four-speed was available as an option according to my parts book. The console around the floor shifter carries the newer "lightning" Opel logo. My car is silver with a black top. I believe the paint on the top might be original. I am attaching two pictures of this car as found in a sales brochure. Bill
