Unanswered: High Shear Strength Bolts
I am looking for 1/2" fasteners for coilover shocks that have higher shear strength than grade 8. (These will be loaded in double shear.) I have run across references to MS14181 fasteners but have not yet run down any PN tables or sources. Any help/advice on these or any other high shear strength fasteners would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Mark B. |

Mark, check out your local airport mechannics. See if you can come across bolts that will go to the flght control surfaces or the push-pull rods. They are high rated shear bolts as opposed to high compression bolts. They also may be able to check out their hardware books and come up with a valid part number. HTH.

mil spec bolts
Try this place.
UFC Aerospace Corp. I know they stock some of these. Their website is not great, but if you call they can probably send spec pages to you with part numbers, etc. Andy |
