Unanswered: Lowering Front End
Did anybody try this? Looks like inexpensive way to lower the front end without deteriorating comfort. |

How does adding a lowering block make it lower?
Perhaps what you're looking at is a lowering block for a rear leaf spring, when the spring mounts under the axle tube, adding a block can lower the car.

If I understand the concept, the block sits between the spring and the cross-member in the centre, and reverse-arcs the leaf such that the spring eyes are higher than with the normal arc. I haven't tried it myself, but I would have to think that the spring rate would change as a result. Has anyone actually tried this?

This is what says in the catalogue: "...to be mounted in between front axle crossmember and leaf spring. Bolted to an original hole in the axle body."
You are right Keith, it would somewhat change the spring rate. If anybody tried it, and can confirm that it actually works, it would not be too difficult to make the block and save few bucks. Anybody? |

Just try the shackle method. It lowers the car and fixes the bushing binding problem.
