Answered: custom coilover suspension?

just wondering if anyone has done this before? Im looking at doing a full coilover conversion on my 69. I kinda have an idea on what i can use, but i could go for some input before i tackle this mess.

If you are talking GT, we have installed a custom front suspension with coilovers on my v8 conversion. There was a thread posted about it a while back.

My reply with pictures is #12 in the thread.

I hope this helps... if you have additional questions about our set up, please ask.

Careful Design Required ...

Much more to doing a GT 'coil-over' front suspension mod than just throwing in some coil-over shocks! You need to make or obtain a complete modular unit.

Carefully look at modular Mustang II units offered by the street rod industry - such as the units offered here:

Mustang II Tubular Control Arm Independent Front Suspension Kits

This is true. We have tubular A-arms as well as the coil overs. The a-arms are as close to stock specs as we could get them. Having driven the car for a while now, it drives amazingly well, especially considering the extra nose weight from the v8.
