In addition, the overall height (from taper to taper) is 6-1/16" for a Manta spindle, and 6-9/16" for a GT spindle. I was *just* measuring this today for Roger Wilson ironically.

This might be a good time to pay the 50 or so hard earned bucks on placing the Opel on a modern alignment machine. KPI is an old term and I was surprised that the service manual held the convenction. The more appropriate term is SAI. Another place to look at is the set back to see if the rearend is centered to the thrust angle. |

Thanks wrench459
I am not trying to align the car (the front end has been removed) I am trying to transfer the critical dimensions into Solidworks (a design program) So I would guess the theoretical KPI is KPI plus the Camber angle (since they are taking the measurement on the car) So that would make the actual steering knuckles KPI 7 deg? (Since the nominal camber is positive 1 deg to give the KPI on the car of 6 deg Does that sound right? thanks in advance Davegt27 |
