You *might* be a little late Mike. I took orders for these a long time ago, now I'm just collecting money and distributing them. If there are any left over due to canceled orders then I'll be sure to put them aside for you if you still want them.
There's a big thread on the Climb to the Clouds that covers all the trials and tribulations we went through last week.

Since I don't have an actual instruction sheet for the installation of these gussets, here's some links to photos of the gussets welded in their appropriate places for a reference.

If you have one set that does not find a home keep me in mind. Still trying to figure out what kind of shape my new Ascona is in. Seems tight right now but this gives me something else to look at.

Bob
Been reading this post and Gene's post. I suspect even some who buy the kit are going to be like myself, unable to pull front end anytime soon. My question is, can useing some sort of spray lube at the pivot points prolong the life of these. Anything else to keep them intact while in place?
John;
I know Bob will have his own opinion, but, having driven these type of Opels a while, and now seeing what Bob's kit will do, lubrication of the points probably will help, but, in the long run, it's still all the various pieces flexing that cause this situation. I rebuilt my wife's Sportwagon front end, not with Bob's kit, just standard bushings and ball joints, etc. and the difference in driving the two cars is night and day, I'm not kidding here. Just like with the 4-spd to 5-spd conversion, it's literally a world of difference.

Spray lube won't keep steel parts from breaking. And most petroleum-based lubes will cause rubber to soften and get 'gooey'. So it won't extend the life of the bushings either. Once they are dry and cracked the only way to make them better is to replace them.
The polyurethane bushings that OGTS makes/sells require lubrication with teflon-based grease to operate properly, and are a performance improvement over stock. They are also more cost effective compared to original style rubber bushings bonded to an outer shell and inner sleeve. They can squeak if not properly lubed however, and can bind unless they are installed correctly (upper a-arm cupped washer reversed, plenty of lube, and do not EVER overtorque the bolts!)

Just thought I'd revive this thread. Not sure how many Bob has left, but his ad says '4 left'. For those with larger wheel/tire combos than stock and low profile tires, I would think this would be a critical upgrade IF you plan on driving your car very much. If you're going to do any 'spirited' driving, I would think that you would appreciate the improvement in the rigidity of the suspension components.
JM2CW,
Harold
Gene told me about this and I'm going to get a set. Just wondering if there is a diagram as to where everything goes to be welded on?
