I saw "breaks" and your name next to the post. I apologize, I thought you were slipping. Since he is German I guess we ought to give him a break, no pun intended ;-). He has already proven to me that his English is much better than my German. Harold |

Guten Tag!
The rear discs look nice and new!
Is the emergency brake operated with a set of brake shoes inside the disc? How does the caliper bracket fit over the part of the wheel bearing that stick out of the diff housing - is the original, square bearing retaining plate still used? I can see that the gold caliper bracket is made so that it can fit on either end of the diff - there is a spare set of caliper mounting holes on each one. Nice!

Yes, the half shafts have to be taken out of the axel - of course new half shaft bearings are needed for this ... I just ordered some because I didn't know before
the original, square bearing retaining plate is still used but the small edge needs to be cutted of. |

Looking at the bolt pattern they are for a late model diff. Don't forget the O ring seals and bearing retainers if your replacing the bearings. How many Euros where they? And yes how does the emergency brake work?

Nice!
A lot of work gone into that diff - love the red springs and yellow shock absorbers! The disc brake set-up looks neat too.
