I know Abobe Illustrator and am very good at it. It is designed for vector drawings and lettering. I can do just about anything in it. Designing up something would be no problem.

Personally, I'm into vinyl stickers.

I believe that part of the problem is that Opel GT.com doesn't seem to have own logo though. It uses a variation of a badge on the GT. It needs an icon that is recognizable as a logo for Opel GT.com.

Opel GT Font

Gary,

The original font looks to be some sort of customized square slab-serif. Searched my normal sources and found a few similar fonts but no exact match. I built True Type Font with just enough letters to spell Opel GT based on the letters on my '69. The font is available in the attached zip.

What program did you use to make that?

I use High-Logic Font Creator Professional v5.0 to hack up the font and Corel Paint Shop Pro X (formerly JASC) to hack up the images. Spent about an hour on the font and much less than that on the final image. I can export .eps or .ai if you want it.

Ideally this needs to be designed in a vector based program using something like AI that you proclaim to be proficient at. I would like to hear more about your experience with vinyl decals - any pictures of finished products?

OpelGT.com Stickers

Will someone just make some stickers and make them available for sale to support OpelGT.com and get over this ratchet jawwing, This thread has been far too many "ideas" and little or no results. Just my opinion.

I agree with the extensive jawwing but some stickers were made up in the past 6 months. I received one from a fellow member but he wasn't the originator. They have the proper blitz and wording. I have seen them in white and also blue. I know there is someone out there who knows where they came from. Please come forward so we can make some more and raise some funds for this site. Just my 0.02

jeff if it like this one
http://www.opelgt.com/forums/103987-post29.html
then you have some time to wait before the maker is out and about
dont know if dave will be back on the board but you never know

as to the "extensive jawwing" well thats the american way is it not

when you read posts about things like "my battery is dead should i replace it or is there an easyer fix " then you know its a yank site (only kidding )

I don't work with decals. I just have done a lot with Illustraiter. I started working on one but didn't have time to finish. My Uncle asked me to see what I could do like post 16.

I really don't want to do anything with a pixel based image as its not conducive to die cut decals (thinking big here). I'd want to redo it in a vector based program like Illustraiter. But it looks like High Logic did the Opel GT font pretty good.

Yup, that's the one. If some knows where they were made, the "mold" is already there and the cost should be minimal. I perfer this one. Does anyone here communicate with the designer of this sticker?

I'd like to put one on my other Opel(Saab)

I've have tried out various sizes of the stickers - they ended up being approximately 1.4"x3.25", 2.25"x5.25", 2.75"x6.5" and 4.25"x10" (Picture 1).

The first attempt with #54 as a vinyl static cling inside the rear quarter window revealed that the logo colors were way to dark and completely un-readable against a black interior.
... Now have a simpler graphic and solid colors. A 2.75"x6.5" vinyl cling in solid red placed in the back quarter window is easily readable from a distance (picture 2).

As an exterior "permanent" sticker I think it could be considerably smaller.

How about a bright yellow? It will show up on any color interior, and would be very noticable.

Heres a simple idea I had.

It's not great, but looks pretty modern. I'm least satisfied with the Op in the opel, I couln't figure out how to get a real outline around it, instead of a glow.

Here's a second idea.

Really Nice. How about inverting the colors to see what that looks like too. I would do it but wouldn't be at school where the programs are until Tuesday.

The plan was to have these on the rear quarter windows, so a black one wouldn't show up at all on a window, lol. I'll see what I can do.

I really like that, now if only it were done with a vector program.
