First weekend in May.
Gene, you are probably asking the friends further north and west, since the southern boys come to Snellville anyway (if they are in the country ).Dieter

Orphan car show
Gene,
I have thought as well many times as showing, my problem is that Autofair and Carlisle are very close, and it cost too much to go alot of places. I did think though it might be a good show for one of these Packards we build to attend, Might give way for the reason to bring some Opels down there as well. I wish it was a happy medium on the date in relation to the other shows is all. I like fall shows as well, and there isn't really anything on the map until September for the Lowes Motor Speedway Fall Autofair Keith |

Gene that sounds grrat i would love to help host a show here in the Atlanta area. When ever you want to get together and do some planning let me know. I would love to get together on a regular with the guys here in Atlanta as well.
I have plans on taking mine to NOPI Nationals this year just to show off a little. I am sure that I will be the only OPEL in the Motorspeedway but I think she will make a name for herself.

Sounds like a great idea..
I wanted to make it the last few years and to be honest a break from the official Carlilse meet would be good. Mixing up things a little... would be good. Charles

The reason I have this idea is that there's no place scheduled for the 2009 National meet, the 2008 and 2010 have been set, but, for 2009, I thought something different, and would give a lot of people a chance time to shoot for it, i.e., get their project cars more, if not, complete and bring them. Again, this is just thinking out loud.

2009 I think was going to be in Texas.
But I could be wrong. 2010 - OMC 2011 - Carlilse (?) Maybe 2011 could be Georgia instead of Carlilse if 2009 is indeed Texas..

The last time I looked it was not "booked" for anything, that's why I had the thought of it, but, if it has to be later, well that gives everyone that much more time, but, we'll have to ask Gary.

Let me point out one interesting item. The Marque that has been the most prevalent at the Orphan Car Show tha past several years is the Studebaker club, of which my two neighbors are members. This year, the Studes had 19 cars there. With just what I can get everyone here and maybe 10-15 more from those that go to Carlisle, we can easily pass them. We don't have to deal with Audis, Volvos and Saabs, as they're not allowed, and there was only one Fiero that even showed up this year. The only other Marque that would give Opels any trouble is the MG's or other Brit cars.
