Scrapbook picture
My son gave me a scrapbook for Fathers day for the Opel progress.
Now I'm trying to figure out what picture to put on the front cover. 1. a picture of the car that we started with. 2. a picture of the semi-finished car (it'll never be done) 3. a performance picture (bleach burnout comes to mind) 4. other |

Other
I chose other, reason why.
Due to it being a book given from your son for the sole use of the GT project, why not a picture of the car in any stage with you and your son in it. Keith |

Has your son helped you on the Opel as well? If so, I would definitely try to incorporate him into the cover.
You could do it a few different ways. Do you have any pictures of you and him with the car when you first received it? If so.. you could use that. Another idea.. continue to fill out the book as you go along, but leave the cover blank until the project is complete. When the car is all finished, take a picture of you and him standing next to the car, and use that as your cover. That final picture will act as a 'symbol' of the car finally being done. HTH |

If the car will never be completed, then I vote for the beginning shot. You'll always be reminded of just how far you've come since the start. If you really think you'll finish the car off just as you would like, then I would use a finished shot with you and your son in the photo AND a beginning shot for contrast (maybe overlay the finished shot and the beginning shot - very artsy
). I keep a small journal on my car for logging things like oil changes, gas mileage, etc. On the inside cover is a finished photo of the car looking its best. On the facing page, however, is a photo of the car the day Keith picked it up - in all its ugliness. This contrast is a powerful reminder of the car's history and motivates me to keep piling on the coats of wax!Matt |

If it were me
I have someone take a picture of you & your son with the opel "Finished" or at least after it painted and running.
My Dad had a 55 chevy for over 30 years. We took it out all the time, did all the area shows, won a couple trophys, and even Had it on display at the local GM plant (back when it was still open) and it wasn't finished. He sold it to a friend of his, who's wife drives it all over, it's her kids favorite car, and it still needs little odds and ends. |

Man I was not very clear on this post..live and learn
Number one son gave me the scrapbook for what reason I don't have a clue. But I'm glad he's interested. He's never had any dirt under his fingernails. Now number two son is a complete opposite but he lives four states away. The "we" I was referring to is the wife and myself. Sorry for the confusion with my post.
