Just turned 37 today. Got my GT in 1986. Never realized until recently how rare the 1.1 liter 69 gt was because my brother had a twin to mine with the same 1.1 and they were only like 60 serial numbers apart. He just sold his a few years back but I'm still haning in there... but with three kids under 10 yrs it's not very practical anymore.

Just 26 here. Had a thing for Opels as long as I can remember. Always thought they were cool. There were a couple floating around my home town when I was a kid, but by the time I came of driving age they were all rust-buckets. Did almost buy an early 70's canadian Vauxhall Viva GT in high school that my auto-shop teacher dragged in but it needed lots of engine work and I had no money.

I've always liked the less-popular cars. That's usually what makes them interesting! I currently have a '75 Valiant Brougham hardtop, a '73 AMC Javelin/AMX and a first-year '70½ AMC Gremlin. Up until a few years ago, I had a bright yellow '75 AMC Hornet hatchback that was a 5 litre V8 with a 5 speed mated to it. Most. Fun. Car. EVER. Never should have sold that one.

Opel GT is on my list of the next car I want to own.

I've just turned 30. Saw my first ever GT in London in 2005, they are rare in this part of world. As soon as I saw her I fall in love. Moved back to Ireland and searched for one. Finally in 2007 I bought a '69 off an English member of this site and got her shipped over. Very rare car here, almost everybody has no idea what it is

21 here...I've wanted an Opel for about 5 or 6 years and finally bought one last Winter. The car is stripped and the motor is out - making good progress on my 2.3 swap. I should be on my way to pick up both an 88 Merkur Xr4ti and an 87 Thunderbird TurboCoupe for $1,500 in the next week. I'm making progress at a slower rate than I had hoped because of working full time and also being a full time student. Hopefully I can make leaps and bounds this summer!

Well, i just happened to register, and thought i'd like to say hallo.

I'm a mere 19 year old, and currently retoring my 70' GT, to hopefully becomming a rather unique and hopefully somewhat original car.

I live in Denmark, and have been interested in everything with an engine since i was 14, and when my eyes fell on the GT i just had to own it.

I hope to acquire a lot of experience through this site, and possible make some new friendships. (And eventually show off my own personal skill)

Iam 58 I have run Opels on dirt tracks cense 1979. I have four GTs and one Kadett. Two gts for parts and the Kadett is to. One gt for the street! One vary modifed for the track. It is going to run next year in a modmini class 1/4 & 3/8 mile track.

I'm 29 and have had my 1972 Opel GT for about 3 years now.

I've just restarted my restoration of my GT, and so of course have renewed my commitment to the hobby as a whole.

I just turned 26 in late June, and somewhat relieved to see I'm not the youngest member here. I've been wanting a GT ever since I first saw one back around '01, which had been sitting for something like 15yrs. Something tells me the car is in ROUGH shape if its still there, but I really want it. I've had many ideas and plans run through my mind over the last 7ish years, and starting out with a rust bucket would be perfect

I'm 46 and I have lost count of how many Opels I've had. I can recall that I had over 50 at one time back in 93. I've been without an Opel for 13 years now and thought I was finally over it then all of a sudden I had another outbreak and bought a 73 GT on a whim a couple days ago. I guess Opel is something that gets into your blood and never leaves.
