We had just bought our 72 GT and the few people I talk to asked me which one was mine? DUH, didnt even think about driving it out there. We were just going out to get ideas on how we want to make it look. MIL has a cabin just across from Stretch Island on Pirats Cove so we get out to your area all the time. Lakewood WA |

Baz..my GT is just 5 km from Rabac. Its in Labin. I go there about 2 times a month,4 days at a time. This summer I'll be on vacation probably in the beginning of July. If your there drop me an e-mail message and we will meet up! I wouldn't have the faintest idea about the name of the Microsoft Route planer for that area or any other. Sorry.

Cincinnai reporting in..............
Tom and Ms. Opel here in Cincinnati. There are several Opel Gt's in the tri-state area but I have only seen 2 together at one time. The other one was my former 1973 red restored Opel GT that my Plumber just sold to a fellow a mile away but it must be sleeping. I'm going to see David's (69whitegt) on Thursday when we leave for Carlisle.
Ms. Opel gets loaded in the trailer Wednesday afternoon when we pick here up from the showroom of my local Saturn Sky dealer where she has been on display for the last month.

Unfortunately Gunter can not participate , because he had a lot of work at home. Harold, a friend from Germany (owner of an Opel GT and other vintage Opel cars will go with me). Ohh,…our departure from Frankfurt/Germany is in appr 18h. Time to pack my bag … Rolf |

Well I am late to sign into this poll. I'm in Swarthmore, PA south of Philly. I have begun to conclude that PA is perhaps the greatest hotbed of existing 70s Opels, I'm tempted to think because of the Dutch/German population in the middle of the state looking for a cheap German car. There are just a lot of these cars out here, from great to rusted to death.
I might start a thread on Opels by state just to confirm this. Wherever you are, enjoy your cars! Jim |

Just visiting this planet
Born Savannah, GA, 1966. Raised Tampa, FL 1967-72; Plattsburgh, NY/Burlington VT (It's not a happy story
) 1972-76; Portland, ME 1976-78; Metro Atlanta 1978-2000, 2005-present; Hinesville, GA 2000-2005. Connected by Marriage to Lima, Peru, and I have a son in San Jose, Costa Rica. Lived with Opels everywhere but Portland & Hinesville. Georgia's climate favors a car living until it wears out or something flat out kills it. Heck, even a Vega wouldn't rust out in Atlanta for five or six hours, at least!
