My Uncle and I are currently doing the 75 model brake upgrage with my front suspension overhaul. I intend to change the back to disc later on.

Ascona rear brakes

Ok Now it's time to address the issue of rear brakes for the
Ascona that is here in Chandler AZ. I mentioned to Dick that the most popular upgrade seems to be to Isuzu Impulse rear end w/ disc brakes.. Has anything changed ? Charles threads show that they are reasonably priced and everything I see seems to say they are good all around considering price and difficulty to install...
Has anything changed or has anyone found another way to go that is as good or better.
I'm also questioning whether the front (1975) brakes are going to be overpowered by the improved rear brakes?.

I know its a old Q.. but no the Isuzu rear discs don't overpower the front.. especially if you put a brake bias valve in

greenstuff pads

I have been using them for the last 4,000 miles. They are great. After putting on new stock rotors, flex lines lines, new fluid and greentuff pads... brakes are just fine for my needs. Car stops fine and I have no interest in any other brake upgrades. No squeal or other issues.

Somewhere , I read that they wear out fast.

Greenstuff pads are great.

Yes... I have done "some" upgrades to the brakes...

Hm.. Pink 240 bhp brake kit, with 4 brake disks, front\rear..

Rear calipers from Opel Zafira, handbrake integrated in the rear calipers...

Vented front disks, metal brake lines.. solid rear brakedisks.

Basically it's all brand new, and huge...
