Unanswered: Plexi Glass - Racing GT's

I've been contacted by a Uk company looking to do Plexi-glass door glass, rear 1/4 and rear windows.

As i understand it they've been approached by someone who races GT's in Portugal........anyone going to own up?

If anyone else is interested i might be do a deal with the company to supply, let me know if you're interested.

If they are willing to make Kadett "glass", I certainly would be in!

Dieter, are you talking Kadett B or C?

I'll check with them when they come over this weekend.

Hi

Can you tell me where in the UK this was? I am looking for plexi Windows for my Racing GT! Due to the fact that I am from Switzerland, it would be easier for me to order them directly!
Do you know the Price?

Thanks and Best Regards

CHRIS

Chris,

They've only just taken my glass away to make the moulds. I should apologies as they're not plexi-glass but poly-carbonate.

The company making them are top glass supply and providing glass for many GT, Rallying and Racing teams.

As soon as they're ready to go i'll let you know.

Dieter,

I don't think they're doing Kadett B at the moment, but it is something they might consider.

hi, talking about plexi glass windows, i recently had my drivers side door smashed
and because there is a VERY LIMITED number of 1970's mantaA owners around ere, i opted for the poly carbonate, iv just got it back, cut to shape using my passanger side window.
all im going to do is cast a plaster mould and shape it.

but before i do that, would it be advantagous to any1 is i posted the template and all the measurements up here?

by the way, apparantly poly carb isnt scratch resistant like glass...

There may be some scratch resistant film you can put on it. Something called Window Armor. (not armour)

I'm not sure what poly carbonate is, but what you need is what we call Lexan. Scratches polish out of it pretty well and it is really really tough, unlike Plexiglass. It's easy to cut and shape and bend, too. Fun stuff to play with.

Not sure what the difference is Jeff but poly carbonate is used in safety glasses. Copied from Wikipedia, Lexan is the brand name for polycarbonate Harold
