That is a beautiful Manta. A little too nice for my kind of racing
but here's to a great success in yours!

Very nice job Pete, much too nice for an ITB car!
Advance Design shocks? Damn, my entire car budget is barely over what your shocks cost! Give 'em hell! Bob |

Very cool car there was someone that wrote an article for the Blitz about an ITB Manta with. FI
was that you they where from the SF area are you running 2.0 FI? the AFM looks bigger putting a Megasquirt FI board in side a 75FI ECU case would be easy Davegt27 |

No, standard 1.9 EFI Many different efi systems can fit in that big box however it would not be much of an advantage. It is not legal for me to remove the air flow meter, and it is not legal for me to add a manifold pressure sensor or intake air temp sensor that most modern aftermarket EFI systems use to determine load. The only legal thing I could do is to add a piggyback inside the box to modify the air flow sensor signal. There may be some gain there, but I suspect it will be minimal. I will play with the base position of the air flow meter and the spring tension while on the dyno to see what can be done. Maybe a little fuel pressure tweaky tweaky also. The restriction of the standard meter is a big problem. My street opel of 15 years ago had a flow meter from an Alfa GTV6. It made a huge difference. But still in IT racing the extended torque curve of the standard EFI really helps. I have been through the whole 32/36 DGV thing a zillion times.

I used to go to Marty Reimer's house and read all his old Blitzes it had to be from the late 80's
the guy talked about dyno runs and how the FI manifold flowed more air its one of the things that pushed me toward 75FI cant remember more then that Maybe Rally Bob remembers yeah the MAP sensor would be a problem but the AFM has an intake air sensor in it though a lot of people use the SAFC or the SAFC II to tweak the FI systems but that would be pushing it, it could be considered a Tach but its really an AFM modifier yeah the best thing you can do is use an AFR gauge and get the mixture spot on maybe tweak the TPS so it goes full enrichment sooner looks like a lot of fun Davegt27 |
