I can attest. I was at a drifting event last week where the, new Lotus' was
drifted. And I will say the guys driving them were doing everything that they could to drift those cars. A GT would probably make a fine drift car, as it pushes anyway. This way with a big powerful engine, the GT could be steered with the rear wheels. The Manta would probably be okay as well. Just it's a bit harder to get out and drift on the edge. When I used to do similar type driving, the Manta would drift, but mainly at high speeds only. Notably around my old favorite hwy off ramp at 50 mph. Dennis |

i've found the opels drift easy on dirt anyway, but havent drifted much on dry pavement. the GT seemed to catch and violently whip back if you kicked the rear end out sideways, where the manta felt much more forgiving in those terms and came back much more nicely and predictably.

That being said; the Opels are rear wheel drive and once set up right would make better "Drifters" than most of the FWD Jap cars, which get by with huge amounts of power and front wheel spin.

I suppose you'd need a posi rear end, and with a stock GT diff you'll probably break it. They aren't a real sturdy one...
