I'd love to "get small" and go for a spin on that!

Thumbs up Another couple "Opel" blasts from the past - 1930s

Absolutely!! Any idea what year this bike is? DOH! . . . Interesting single-cylinder, "flat-head" engine with externally adjusted valves and lifters, non-oiled? Old style Amal carb too, I believe . . . ages since I last saw one . . . and look at all that mechanical linkage for just about everything!

And here I thought I was the first official "Opeler" in my family, but here's an Opel motorcycle (look closely on tank) paced velodrome bike racing drawing from 1931 by my father,

. . . so I guess I'm not! Here's another showing a velodrome bicyclist wearing an Opel jersey from 1932:

otto those front forks turned backwards still scare me i think they would lead to a lot of flat nosed cyclists

Question Paced bike's backward forks . . .

Velodrome motorbike paced bike racing was all the rage in Europe during late '20s-mid '30s and I guess they found that it was the only way you could "nose up" to the pacing motorbike's rear roller bar. Doesn't look mechanically sound to me either . . .

Later the Velodrome motorbikes [10/20 years ago] were Jawa's [Czechoslovakian motorcycle] 600 cc one cylinder
