Unanswered: Major Opel Performance/Racing Liquidation
The tubeframe car is state of the art, all welding completed, gutted steel body with fiberglass front clip rough fitted, loose set of Steinmetz flares and spoiler. Includes new triple adjustable Penske shocks and Eibach springs, new Speedway Quickchange (+ 2 spare axles) with new Variloc limited slip and cooler pump kit, 6 gearsets (12 ratios), new Woodward steering rack and new Ultrashield side wing race seat. Megadollar custom chrome moly front uprights (spindles), suspension complete + spares, new Speedway hubs (+ a spare) and new Wilwood brakes all around. (3) exhaust headers, front and rear swaybars and hardware, Stack instrumentation, lexan windshield, (8) Bogart 13X7 wheels (10# ea.) This car was designed to take advantage of the Opel GT's unique engine placement while taking full advantage of the more liberal suspension rules allowed in SCCA GT than can be achieved using a tub car. There is a lot of detail work required to finish this car, but all the major expensive components are included. Miscellaneous loose items included in this liquidation are too numerous to list, but here is a sample: 4 parts cars (2 good tubs), 2 2.2 liter street engines (one apart), 1 Getrag five speed, several 4 speeds, 6+ core 1.9 engines, aluminum torquetubes for Opel diffs, spare big brake kit, spare driveshafts, Isuzu rear disc setup, 3 race diffs of various ratios (for red car), 1 3:90 original Opel posi/limited slip in great shape out of autocross car, several stock complete diffs including 2 3:67's, Pacesetter header in good shape, numerous distributors (two 012's), spare MSD 6 AL + coil, spare Petronix igniters, selection of Weber 32/36 carbs and every manifold imaginable, several sets of engine rebuild gaskets and spare adjustable cam gear + 2 new cam cores, spare front sport spring and Lenk rear springs (+many other rear springs), couple of keyed gas caps and assortment of Opel keys, etc. etc. etc. You can clean out my rented boathouse and shop of all Opel parts for pennies on the dollar, far less than I spent on the three race engines or the tube frame car, or for that matter what most single racecars cost, and you'll be getting the red car that won four SCCA Divisional/National points championships in six years in the deal. That car as seen in ad on this site and featured on Speed's 2002 & 2005 Runoffs broadcasts as well as August 2003 Grassroots Motorsports magazine. Heck, I'll even throw in a fireproof driver's suit if I can move this stuff without going to EBay. Would much rather see someone who appreciates what I've worked on for 10 years get it all than going to auction. No reasonable offer for the whole lot refused, trades of easily saleable items or property considered, but cash trumps all. If anyone serious wants to see it all, pickup at either El Paso or Albuquerque airport can be arranged. Stan Czacki, 915-204-3520 or sczacki@utep.edu |

Can anyone say "Club Buy"???
There sounds like some good stuff in there.. But it sounds like it's an all-or-nothing deal.. I'll rent a storage space in New Orleans, (dry!) and work the break-down and shipping out of components.. We can take an inventory of everything, and make a club (board) list... If not, I'm afraid Todd will somehow end up with all this great stuff.... dave

Thanks for your thoughts guys, but guess I was not clear about my intentions, judging from the many messages I got on email last night,PM here, as well as the above. Everyone seems to want components, and I am willing to sell street only and excess race inventory, but need to keep what's necessary to support the cars unless a racecar buyer does not want/need the spares. I have already agreed to sell an adj. cam gear and a 32/36 Weber + Pacesetter header.
That said I really need to sell both cars and if I cannot find buyers here I'll be going on EBay in several weeks. I may run the tub car to keep my license as I await offers since it has a fresh FP engine going in, but definitely need to wind down. Jeff Denton- I tried to respond twice, but the email won't go to the address you sent from?? I want to answer your questions and sell you the extra adj. cam gear as well as tell you that you could have it all for a little more than I have invested in the two main race engines. Lest any of you fear moving all this stuff, I'm 63 yrs. old and moved evrything, mostly by myself, 110 miles three years ago. I'm not in a position to do that again but would help and consider doing partial delivery. Everything is in a 56' x 12' enclosed boathouse (mostly the 4 spare cars and engine + suspension cores) and 2 bays of my garage. Berfore that it was in my back yard (engines in storage shed) and one bay of my garage, but I did not have the tubeframe car then. Stuff I forgot to mention last night- two sets of new head bolts (+ FP engine has new ones), new main, rod & cam bearings, two complete new sets of differential bearings crush sleeves and set up shims, and a brand spanking factory new 1.9 short block and head that were stashed in a high school auto shop without ever being run or dissassembled! I took the head off to use the brand new head bolts. All included in the deal. Stan |

Thanks Stan, please PM me. I know there is a problem with my e-mail, because our service got absorbed by Centurytel and it hasn't been right since, if you try to "reply" it goes to centurytel.net instead of digisys.net...
I will get as much of your excess inventory as I can, wish this was happening next year when I will be quite wealthy compared to the current "working man's" lifestyle...

Jeff, don't know how to PM you! So far I've only figured out how to answer PM's. Anyway had a email response all typed up and will try to send to digisys. Could arrange to hold everything for you till next year with a deposit and help with the storage cost till then. Stan

OK need to get the big stuff moving so will sweeten the deal. The previous $15,000 package on the FP/GTL/Vintage (and easily convertable to ITB or HP) many time SCCA National racewinner is $12,750- that includes the fresh $12,000 FP motor with many spares such as roller rockers and composite lifters (that are in it), dual weber 40's on Magnoletsi, Tilton clutch/flywheel and the $7,000 bulletproof Houseman trans conversion. 9 aluminum wheels with one race old slicks, 4 more aluminum wheels (same type) with brand new intermediate slicks, 4 narrower aluminum wheels with one practise rains and I'll even throw in the 3.44, 3.67, and 4.22 complete race prepped diffs (3.89 in car). You also get your choice of one of my 4 complete spare tubs if you want and can haul away or pay modest storage.
For the real bargain hunters, subtract the megadollar engine, Tilton, and Houseman and get everything listed above for $5,500! |

And before I forget, the clearance deal on the tubeframe project car as listed in the first post on this thread is now $12,750 also with a spare tub car of your choice included if you can haul away or pay modest storage (you choose from the four tubs I have left).
For the serious bargain hunters, subtract the 3x adjustable remote reservoir Penske shocks, the Stack instrumentation and one set of Bogart wheels and take the rest for $6,500 O.B.O. For that matter it's O.B.O. on the old car also- SCCA National winner and Runoffs entrant stickers included. Make offers before I have to head to EvilBay! |

Got a few minutes to detail what I've got engine wise. The FP motor is bespoke with the FP car unless someone takes just the roller. If that happens it will be available, complete north to south and east to west for $5,500 O.B.O. with a spares package. This motor cost well over $12,000 to professionally build and has broken track records. It is fresh and has just been assembled with new rods, pistons and bearings.
The GTL motor is the highest hp motor of the bunch because it has larger than stock valves (stock required in FP) and bigger carbs- 45's on Steinmetz vs. 40's on Magnoletsi. It also has $500 custom chokes that flow 19cfm more per hole than stock Weber! The larger valves are same size as Chevy many of you use but with much smaller/lighter stems and lash caps to make up the difference in the roller rockers. (Valve train alone with all lightweight components, not incldg. roller rockers cost over $2,000). Risse HD H2O pump, custom single gasket alum rocker cover to clear roller rockers and custom stud girdle, alum underdrive pulleys (new), $1,200 Carillo rods, custom Venolia 12.5/1 pistons for better flame path (with two spares) and Total Seal rings, oil dam and adjustable oil pressure relief valve. Timing cover set up for external oil cooler/filter w/out oil filter adapter. Custom baffled alum oil pan. Two races old $5,500 O.B.O. The back up "mule" motor can run w/in 1-1.5 seconds of the other motors on a good day for a lot less $. It has a tired short block with just stock forged rods and timing cover uses oil filter adapter for external plumbing. No fancy rocker cover or oil pan, just the stock alum stuff and no underdrive pulleys. It does have the kick butt, ported, flowed cylinder head (but it's a 1.5/1.6 small chamber) with ultra lightweight valvetrain on stock (SCCA approved 42I and 39E) valves with small diameter stems. Same .500" plus lift cam and roller rockers as used in other engines. Magnoletsi intake and dual 45's. A lot of go for the $- $2,500 O.B.O. Also have several good 1.9 4 bearing heads, another 1.5/1.6 head and many blocks. One of the 1.9 "4 bearings" is brand factory new never been run as is one of the short blocks- make offers. And then we have a 2.2 complete less F.I. as I received it from Germany for $1,500 O.B.O. and a dissassembled 2.2 for $1,000. |

Don't wait and risk missing this once in a lifetime chance to own one of the three top winningest/best national level Opel roadracing efforts in the country for pennies on the dollar. The original car can and has beaten many V8 A Sedans and many E Production Loti, Mazdas,MG's; and that's with a shriveled up little 60 + year old dude driving. Just think what you could do with it (own a piece of Opel history) or the new car that's designed to handle even better (see 2005 Runoffs- Speed tv) and go faster.
Sharpen those pencils, keep those offers coming! Stan 915-204-3520 or sczacki@utep.edu |

Stan,
I just called Chuck Khuen in Columbus Ohio. He races Opel GT's at Mid-Ohio. He said he will be giving you a call to see how you are doing and see what you have left. I hope this helps.

Am I selling this stuff too low $??!! Just saw a header on this site for $200 after I sold the same (actually looked in better condition) WITH a 32/36 and cast alum air cleaner for $200! Guess I only got about $100 for the header.
Let's see more offers on those cars and engines. Thanks, Stan |

Some more "exotic" stuff I found this weekend while getting some street parts out of storage to ship. These would be race related if you are running ITB. 1970 fresh/rebuilt 3 bearing stock cylinder head- new guides, seats, valve job. Cam, solid lifters and excellent shape stock rockers included. Although it has "storage" grease on cam/lifters should be disassembled and lubed, but is very clean as was stored in plastic bag apx. 6yrs. ago. $300 + shipping.
Good (except for one rod end/heim) used watts link setup with two modified diff covers(one spare?) for center mount. Will not clear fuel cell on race GT, but would work on ITB (with stock fuel tank) or street. $150 + shipping. Trick hiflow large diameter air cleaner housing from a winning autocross Manta. Fits 32/36 or 38 DGAS and includes phenolic and wood heat isolaters. $75 + shipping. Jeff Denton- you still looking for valves? I have one engine's worth + 1 extra exhaust valve loose. Gary Farias- have not located the adjustable panhard bar yet, but am sure I will as I keep digging! |

Rick,
Have not heard from Chuck yet. There is someone else from Ohio talking to me about the venerable current tub car who may know Chuck. Henri, Yeah I thought that Pacesetter header was in great shape. The carb came off my street car about 2001 when I installed a 2.2, 38DGAS and Getrag. I usually remember to drain gas when pulling one off but it would not hurt to pull the top and make sure there is no gum/dirt in bowl (although I always ran a fuel filter the oxygenated winter gas in El Paso sometimes attacked rubber fuel system hoses/components). Enjoy. Stan |

Am headed out of town on two trips in next two weeks, so ability to respond will be "spotty". Am especially concerned about PM's. Cell phone has voicemail, so if I cannot directly answer I'll call back as soon as I land. Will also check email as much as possible.

The F Production car, two engines, and all F Production spares and ancillaries have been SOLD. Thanks to Bill Davidson, John Mills, Roger Wilson, Bob LeGere, Tom Drake, Dave Ligon, Marty Reimer and all others who helped me construct, maintain, and take this car to four Divisional Championships and six Runoffs invites.
I still have the world's first (arguably) tube frame Opel GT, the GT Lites engine that won three Nationals and ran strong at the 2005 Runoffs, a 4.22 diff, new set Nosiglia/Legere roller rocker arms (with good polylocs) two 2.2 engines, a Getrag 5 speed, many performance/street parts and new/good used engine parts remaining. No reasonable offer refused, unreasonable offers considered. Stan |
