    Ignition switch positions

The wife's ignition switch started acting up so I was forced to tear it apart. Cleaned, buffed, greased and polished all the guts. Before I reinstall the bugger I just wanted to confirm what happens when the switch is in each position. I searched for a while, learned alot but couldn't find specifics. Here is what I came up with. I attached a pic and a chart.
I appears to me that when the switch is turned from "I" (run) to "II" (start) that it diables one of the other circuits and enables "start". Now here is my question... Is this normal? Is it disabling accessories to save current for the starter?

also... there is a little wire on the outside of the lock cylinder. Looks like the PO cut it. I saw a pic in one of the electrical threads earlier that stated this was for Euro lights. Is this a wire I need to worry about?

If anything in my chart looks incorrect.... please let me know
    Thanks a bunch

Term 15 is NOT the input

    Dan,

Terminal 30 is the INPUT to the Ignition Switch
Contacts make in this order going counter clockwise looking at you photo:
"P", OFF, Key out, Steering column locked (will put 12V on your side markers lights with the turn signal switch)

    "2" OFF, Key in, Unlocked
    "15" "ON" (12Volts to the Black/Red bus)
"14" not used, seems to be a duplicate of "15"
    "50" Crank/Start.

email me your Postal Mailing Address and I will send you a schematic of the Ignition Switch: jjwheatley2003@yahoo.com

    Wire colors and sizes

I forgot the wire colors and want to clarify the difference between the
“Black / Red” bus and the black-red with that goes from terminal 50 to the starter solenoid.

30: 12 Red, supplies 12V to the switch
15: 12 Black, outputs to fuse box f5, f6, and f7 (left side) (yes, a HOT black wire) Supplies 12V to the instrument panel.
    50: 12 Black/Red wire to starter

the 20 Gray wire is for the Key Buzzer circuit.
